蹦床运动最开始是在美国展开，并在美国举行了蹦床比赛，参赛者通过蹦床来完成各种各样优雅的动作。在后期，蹦床运动由美国传入英国，并在英国举行了首届蹦床世界锦标赛。随着蹦床运动的快速发展，已经开始普及至整个欧洲，并且在法国举行了首届欧洲蹦床锦标赛。

这是蹦床运动发展的一个非常具有意义的里程碑。

蹦床运动如果说是一项体育运动的话，与其不如说是一种“空中的芭蕾”，蹦床运动员通过蹦床的弹力在空中展现着优美华丽的舞姿。如果把镜头放慢，那么这将会是一幅幅惊艳的艺术佳作。
