Daniel James will be the Premier League's surprise Player of the Season.
Who is Daniel James? For some of you who have not been following transfers over summer window (Trust me, I don't blame you.) you may have missed out on the first transfer into Manchester United, Daniel James.
He is an exceptionally speedy winger who can play on the left or right or even as a forward. However, I am excited to see him start on the left wing instead of the aging Alexis Sanchez.
Seeing Sanchez on the left wing has been incredibly irritating especially under Mourinho. Sanchez could be fantastic playing as a striker due to his good movement and could be a revelation this season as well if he can stay fit.
Back to James. He has impressed the coaches with his fitness and his ability. That is quite telling that a championship player is the most impressive in a group of premier league pedigree players.
The young James will be featuring tomorrow in the pre-season friendly against Perth Glory and eyes will be on him and on the new right back, Wan Bissaka.
I would be willing to stake money on Daniel James displacing one of the starting 11 before the end of the season. He is the perfect example of what Solskjaer is looking for in his players. Young, hungry and determined to succeed at Manchester United.
Make sure not to miss the game against Perth Glory for a look into what Solskjaer has planned and the usual suspects like Jones, Smalling and Young.
Solskjaer has already indicated that everybody has a clean state despite his promise of being ruthless. That might have been said in haste and in anger so it is quite understandable that his idea of the team has changed. I would however be willing to bet that in the 2020/2021 season most of the players that have survived the axe like Young, Jones, Smalling this season will be sold then.
