Goat willow is now in its most beautiful adornment now in the spring.
Goat willow or pussy willow (Salix caprea) blooms with its beautiful catkins now in the spring.
This tree is such that male catkins and female catkins are on the separate tree. Paint catkins on a tree, and female catkins on another tree.
The pictures in this series are just of male catkins. And now they are at their finest in West Norway. In a later blog, I will present both male and female catkins.
The catkins on the goat willow are often visited by bees and bumblebees, where they find both nectar and pollen.

Not only plants and flowers but also the birds and birds song that is easy to hear now in the spring.
It really is a very beautiful willow bloom. Earlier, I did not come across such large and bulky willow flowers. In our area there are many varieties of willows, but I have not seen such ones. There are many different species in the Salix family @Barski
from small shrubs to large trees.
I have included the Latin name of the tree (Salix caprea) so this kind of Salix can be identified safely.
However, the catkins at the Goat Willow are big and beautiful now in the spring.
I love to watch the willow blossom, but such beautiful photos never turned out.

These trees are gorgeous now in the spring when we can see the little yellow catkins.
