A new era begins at Arsenal
Defending Champions Manchester City defeated Arsenal 0-2 at The Emirates Stadium last night. 22 years after Arsene Wenger was appointed, the Gunners started their first ever season under a new manager Unai Emery.

The Defending Champions looked like a team that will be chased by everybody else on Day one itself. Manchester City were in total control of the game in the first half. They had a number of chances, out of which they converted one as Raheem Sterling eased past the Arsenal defence releasing a rocket.
The second half didn't start well for Arsenal either. Arsenal conceded another one as Bernardo Silva put Benjamin Mendy's pass across Petr Cech, who had just made a wonderful 1v1 save seconds before conceding the goal.

Things however, were positive at the Emirates. It's not going to change overnight, Emery knows that. But this season is going to be a crucial one in the history of the club as what happens now is going to play a huge part in the future of the club. We all know how Manchester United have still not recovered from Sir Alex's loss, and Arsenal certainly will not want to be a club that goes down the same road.
