Croatia and Barcelona player Ivan rakitic has said that any prize that Lionel Messi couldn't win should automatically go to Lukas modric this year..
It has been a great year for rakitic and modric who had a great world cup in Russia where they were runners up and Lukas modric has had a fantastic year as a player.
He was fantastic in the world cup and was voted best player in the tournament.
He also won the UEFA mens award ahead of Ronaldo and Salah.
Modric also won the champions league with Real Madrid and that was also a great achievement for him.
The FIFA award for men has been shortlisted and modric, Ronaldo and Salah has been nominated while Lionel Messi Miss out this year for the first time in over ten years.
Now rakitic wants his country man to win the award since Messi is not among the top three this year.
Who will win the award is still unknown for now.
