The blues outfit have taken steps to find a replacement for their Madrid-bound goalkeeper.

Courtois is doing everything within his capabilities to force a move to Real Madrid.

Chelsea are poised to activate Kepa Arrizabalaga's €80m release clause which would become the record signing for a goalkeeper eclipsing Allison's €76m.

Athletico doesn't want a bid. This means that Chelsea would have to activate the player's release clause for negotiations to begin.

Chelsea have the financial prowess to get the deal done. If it goes through, the deal will break the club's transfer record which was set not long ago, last year, when Morata signed from Madrid for £58 million.

The blues haven't approached the club yet. It is believed though that they will approach within two days. The goalie though doesn't want to force a deal through as he's keeping for a club that he has supported from a young age.

Real are ready to sign the Belgian for £31m which means that the blues would have to find the excess fee require to sign Kepa elsewhere.
