The Argentine has been the obvious leader for the Blagurana, not just in this season but in previous ones before. He's been the club's most prolific and consistent player and is always looked up to whenever things aren't going to plan.

Lionel Messi has an average of forty goals every calendar year for a decade now. There has been no year in the last ten years when the Argentine has not notched forty goals for both club and country.

His goal last week took those year's tally to 41 goals. In the Champions league last week, his two goals against Tottenham was enough to secure victory for his side.
