ARGENTINA TARGET WORLD CUP SEMIFINALS

Looking at the competitive World Cup with a lot of star-eluded teams, the semifinals will not be a bad stage for Argentina according to the Argentine Football Association (AFA) president Claudio Tapia.

Considering how the South American team struggled to make it to the world cup during the qualifiers, the 2014 first runners-up do not seem to be among the potential winners for the tournament in Russia.

Lionel Messi who is hungry for a senior trophy with Argentina will again want to do his best to lead the team to the final in the tournament.

However, Tapia believes that the semifinals is the most feasible target for Argentina, who will battle with Iceland, Croatia and Nigeria in Group D.

Tapia would not stop praising the Barcelona superstar as Argentina begins their World Cup journey against Iceland in Moscow, Russia on Saturday.
