Sacked

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) recently sacked Egyptian Amr Fahmy from his position as general secretary.

The CAF Committee reached this decision prior to the draw for the AFCON competition but hasn't disclosed the reason for such decision.

Fanny filled that position in November 2017. His father and grandfather also handled that position.

His grandfather Mourad served as general secretary of CAF from 1961-1982 after which his father took the position and held it until 2010
