The Italian legend has spoken his mind on an argument that has lasted the last decade. Many regard Messi to be the greatest player to have ever kicked a football but Andrea Pirlo thinks otherwise.

Andrea Pirlo has said that he doesn't doubt that Messi is a great player but that he cannot be given the tag of Best Footballer evwr unless he lifts the world cup trophy with Argentina.
Messi who turns 31 very soon will probably be playing his last world cup and has already hinted at hanging in his boot on the International stage.
Maradona is reputed to have singlehandedly carried the Argentina team of 1986 to world cup glory even though he didn't score in the final match.
Pirlo says he feels Argentina has had time to prepare following their dismal performance, enduring thrashing at the hand of Spain.
Argentina came close last time, losing the final to the Germany side who were ruthless on their way to glory. Who knows, luck could just shine on Argentina this time around

I have to agree with him, Messi can not be called the "greatest footballer ever" that's just nonsensical and people letting the fact that this is what they are seeing go past the facts...he hasn't wont the world cup yet, the greatest football competition in the world, and he has not won the Copa America, the second most important international tournament among the confederations, maybe tied with the Euro or slightly behind it.
Even Cristiano Ronaldo, managed to win an Euro with Portugal, and he isn't the greatest of all time either, that is still Pelé who won 3 world cups, 58, 62 and 70
