Still Not Convinced But Welcomed.

The Premier League is back and you can expect more posts from me from now on, when it comes to football and other sports of interest.

Manchester United played Leicester City yesterday and like i told you all before now, that i think it would be an uphill task for United this season if they don't address some vital aspects of their play.

I won't lie, i am happy they won but i am still not convinced with their play. What i really admire yesterday was the desire, the fight and the dedication not to lose concentration and also a desire not to disappoint the fans so early on. More is still needed.

Sanchez was missing and lost several balls, either to pass passes he gave or to first touch letting him down. Rashford could be forgiven for just coming back and not having much pre-season games.

I am particularly impressed with Andreas. I have always loved that guy. He isn't exceptional but he is the kind that you would expect to give you his best. I was sad when he was loaned to Valencia last season. He played pre-season that time too and when i saw him play pre-season again, i thought Mourinho would still loan him, but since he couldn't get his transfer target, i guess that's a blessing in disguise for Andreas. Fred; the new signing had a great game too and the Old Trafford faithful gave him a standing ovation with applause. What a great feeling he must have felt.

What a game by Luke Shaw too. I still feel the guy has a funny way of running hahaha but i like him. I hope he kicks it up from here, since he has scored his first ever senior goal and his first goal coming on the back of 67 appearances for Manchester United. He was even named man of the match. His goal came in handy for us, as it settled us and made us push away the likelihood of a draw which blighted Manchester United's season in the last campaign.

Pogba just came back and he gave a good performance despite not being fully fit. His game dipped and that is understandable, seeing he just got back and trained for 3 days alone. He opened the scoring in the 3rd minute, from the penalty spot, when Sanchez's strike hit Daniel Amartey's hand and the referee pointed correctly to the spot. 7 minutes from time, Luke Shaw produced his moment of magic, which is not devoid of a little bit of luck, before substitute; Jamie Vardy nodded home from close range, after an initial effort from a fellow team mate struck the bar.

The game ended 2-1. Leicester dominated the first half...but Manchester United got the lead. It wasn't a perfect Manchester United's game but starting the season with a hard fought 3 points would always be welcome, anytime and any day.

Not the best of performance but there is no denying the fact that it is needed.

Lol... The first thing that came to my mind after the victory was you... How funny.

Good one for the confidence, at least, you didn't lose your first game like my dear Arsenal.

I still think Lukaku needs to work on his first touch and finishing, still poor IMO for his kinda potential.

And your man, Mou was at it again, saying he should be called Head coach and not Manager... #SoftShading

Hahahaha thank you for that.

Yes, it is good for their confidence, despite not being at their best, to still grind out the needed result. I hope it ignites a fire in them.

I was really pained Arsenal lost and the set of fixtures isn't favourable to them for now. Another big game coming up and this could have helped them with the needed confidence for the set of those big games.

I still feel it is good to have all these big games early on, it helps during the course of the season.

Mourinho? He is always blabbing. He says a lot of things that doesn't relate to what he is being asked. Now you see him trying to praise Pogba and Martial because he knows he has no choice than to get the best out of them, since his job is on the line.

Lukaku? That guy is a joke sometimes. I couldn't believe he couldn't bury that one-on-one chance. What if the 3 points depended on it? Just imagine that.

As much as Arsenal needed that win against City, I still feel Chelsea may be a less tougher opposition, not to say Arsenal should not bring their A-game anyway.

I feel both Pogba and Mou are just trying to keep the house in shape cos Pogba recently said he'd not like to comment on how issues are if not, he'd be fined.

Best Thing is, both should just Bury their ego, or at least, Mou should. He's the adult and coach.

I've been saying, they should just gift Arsenal that Martial... Abeg 😉

Yes, Chelsea are not really in their stride and i would always support Arsenal over Chelsea. Really don't fancy that team.

Mourinho doesn't like losing. He likes to win, eveb war of words so i doubt he would want to bury his ego, but it would be nice if he could, because he is older and also the coach. He need to sort things out with his players. Yes, i read that interview too and it showed there is a lot going on. Pogba didn't even jubilate when he scored from the penalty spot.

Hahahaha i never wanted Tony to leave. He only need the right coach to fan his flame into fire.

Lol.. The board have their hands full, their team or Mourinho..? Time will be the best judge.

Absolutely. They will decide which way they want to go. I suspect they would want their players rather than Mourinho, with his track record of causing issues in his third seasons everywhere.

Lol. Third season Voodoo

Happening already...hahaha

I watched the game yesterday and from what I saw, I am not impressed in the team play. It's as negative as last season. I just hope that at some point the players will feel motivated to step up irrespective of the coach's defensive approach to games

I really hope so too. They have so much attacking players to be playing defensive tactic. I hope they pick up the necessary motivation and defy all odds even with their quite transfer window.

Left to the players they will go out to attack and dominate the opponent.

However they have to abide by the coach's instructions which is to play conservative. The coach has always been a conservative coach throughout his entire blissful career

I feel you on that. This is why the players are clearly unhappy. Mourinho has achieved so much success while playing this way, he needs to understand football has changed, and he needs to evolve too, and not just get stuck up to an ideal that isn't working anymore.
