Portugal Needs To Be Ambitious If They Are To Repeat The Euro Surprise
Portugal are heading into the most prestigious tournament in the soccer world not among the favourites but rather as an underdogs even in the group they find themselves.

Cristiano Ronaldo, the country's highest cap and highest goal scorer with 81 goals to his name is leading the Portuguese to the 2018 FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia as underdogs they were when they surprised the world by winning the European Championship in 2016.
However, things are different this time and the five time Ballon d'Or winner advises his team mates that they need to 'think big' if they are to pull some surprises and do the unthinkable in Russia.
"In football, everything is possible" as quoted by Ronaldo is true, but World Cup is not like European Championship which does not involve teams from Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, etc. However, football has its way of surprising us after all.
Speaking with the press as their government see them off in preparation for the global showpiece in Russia, Ronaldo has charged his team mates to be adventurous and believe in themselves. No one expected them to lift the European Championship two years ago and they can repeat such success in Russia if they have the ambitions to do so.

Portugal will be facing the 2010 edition winners, Spain in an opening group stage match on June 15 before facing Morocco and Iran as they look forward to leading their group so as to avoid the heavyweights awaiting the group's runner-up in the knockout stage.
