Fast forward 40 years, same NBC race made much more expensive and dangerous SF show, with a lesbian actress star who acted as a news anchor, trying desperately to persuade the audience that she is a real news person… You know who is that alien actress, don’t you? I don’t have to spell it to you?

NBC sucks. I think they also cancelled Firefly before the end of season one.
Never watch Firefly, @tarotbyfergus, but I remember vaguely a “Threshold”, with Carla Gugino. That was also dismissed after 13 episodes… :( Don’t know if that was NBC.
