Axie Infinity - Raise Your Axies For Battle
Axie Infinity is one of my best crypto games. I have made a review on this awesome game three months ago, Axie Infinity (Game Review - Raise Your Axies For Battle Time. There was an awesome update in the game and also there were some details about this captivating game I didn't cover in my first review. In this review, I will make some comparison of Axie Infinity with other games such as Pokemons, CryptoKitties, and World of Ether. Why you, yea, you reading this article should join others in spending your money in this game and many more. Axie Infinity is currently ranked(as at the moment of writing this article) number 44 in the Games category in State of the DApps ranking. Axie Infinity
Axie Infinity is a crypto online game built on the Ethereum Blockchain. It involves collecting, raising, battling and trading of creatures called Axie. Axie Infinity is almost similar to Pokenoms, CryptoKitties and World of Ether, although one major difference is the feature of raising your Axies from the stage when they are just eggs to full grown adults, which takes about 4 - 5 days. Like Pokenoms, CryptoKitties and World of Ether, the process/feature of your raising your creatures is absent which makes the games less intimate to users. Axie Infinity seeks to make this captivating, hereby making the process of raising your Axies even more interesting. Your Axies' abilities are to some extent determined by how well you raise them. Just like how you raise your kids or pets, if you don't raise them properly they don't perform very well in future, and raise properly, they make you proud of them.
Axies & How To Buy Axies
Axies are the creatures you collect, raise, battle with & against and trade. Owning the right set of Axies will guarantee you huge success in the game and also make you rich, yea, like rich in real-life. The most expensive Axie was sold for a whopping 9 ETH. An ETH is currently worth about $174, therefore 9 ETH is worth about $1,566(Note: The Axie was sold during bull period). Buying Axie is a crucial part of this game, and should be taken very seriously.
In the past, before the update, you could buy Axie's eggs from the Axie Lab but now you can't, reason being that, all the eggs have been sold. Currently Axies can only be bought from other players. Head straight to the Marketplace which is located at the central top of the homepage. In there you will find some Axies from players. The prices are arranged in descending order. At the top of the page, you will see the cheapest Axies, and as you scroll downwards, the prices begin to get more expensive and at the very end of the page, is where you find the most expensive Axies.
Currently, you can buy the lowest priced Axie at 0.0189 ETH which is currently worth about $3.29. Not expensive I must say. You can select the right Axie that possess the attributes you seek and that is within your pocket.

Buying Axies
After you have selected your choice, click on the selected Axie. It will open a new tab showing the details about the Axie, such as it's HP(Hitpoints), Speed, Skill, Morale, Level and more. If you are satisfied with the details, you should click on "Buy now' which is located at the bottom right corner of the page.

As soon as you click "Buy now", Metamask will popup. If you don't have a Metamask wallet. you must have to get one, in order to purchase your Axie. Registration is quite simple and straightforward. Make sure you safeguard your password and most importantly, your key words or mnemonic words. As soon as you have successfully created your Metamask account, you should transfer some ETH, there about 1 ETH(to make a team - you need three(3) axies to make team in order to battle). The Metamask popups to confirm your transaction. You should click on "Confirm" to complete the purchase of your Axie. Voila, you got yourself an Axie.

Why Should I Spend My Money On This Game Now?
Games are for fun, but won't it be more fun if you are making cool money while playing your favorite games. I love Clash Of Clans (COC). I have spent over 3 years playing that game. I have joined different clans, wars, improve my defense, increase the level of my troops and more. Have I made a cent from it? No!!! I have spent my money in it? Yes!!. Whereas, this is a game where you spend your money, just the same way you do in other online games, but make double or triple of what you spent, Isn't that lovely? Of course it is.
During the ICO stage of Axie Infinity, the prices of Axies were with the range of 0.1-0.3 ETH( how I wish I knew of this game back then, I would have been swimming in money by now). Just as we know in Economics, as demand for a commodity increases, so will the price of such commodity. Same thing happened to Axie Infinity, as more and more people were coming in, the prices of the Axies started increasing.
Crypto games work on scarcity which is the main fact for value of the crypto-collectables. Like the most expensive CryptoKitty, which is Dragon, which was sold for $170,000, why? Because it was among the very first CryptoKitties with some unique attributes which other new CryptoKitties can NEVER have. Same thing applies to Axies, the Axies sold during the pre-sale period have more Mystic parts and are tagged "Origin" making them unique and expensive.
Let me give you a break down of the total numbers of Axies with Mystic parts.
There are only 3 Axies with 4 Mystic parts
There are 17 Axies with 3 Mystic parts or more
There are 70 Axies with 2 Mystic parts or more
There are 289 Axies with 1 Mystic part or more.
As you can see above, the more the Mystic parts, the more scarce the Axies are and the more expensive they become. You can read my previous article here to know about Mystic parts and the different types of Mystic parts.
Can you spend over 10 - 20 ETH to buy just one Axie, I can(money is just the issue for me right now, but if I had, I would). Now, why should I? Cryptocurrency is currently in a bad bear period, good news for some, like me, now I can buy cryptocurrencies and hold. Let's imagine you buy an Axie of 10 ETH which should be worth about $1,740 now, then in less than a year, the market bulls, your 10 ETH could be worth over $7,000. Whereas some people save their money in banks, which gives them there about 3-5% interest of the money saved, instead of buying an Axie, which could see you get over 200-300% of your money invested. Let's forget about the bull and bear market situations, you buy an Axie of 10 ETH and within a period of one year, the value of that Axie must have increased, I'm 95% sure of that. It's a very wise way to invest your money and catch some fun while investing your money.
How To Get Started
You can find it in my previous review of this game. Let me just give you a quick summary of it. First, install Metamask on your system. If you are using your phone, you install Coinbase, Trustwallet or Enjin. Once you have install any of the application and transferred some ETH in them, head straight to the Axie Infinity and then to the Marketplace to purchase your Axies and start battling.
Conclusion
Axie Infinity is the game you should try out. The interface is just superb. The Axies are beautiful and adorable. The battle replay is unique. The idea about making money while you play your game is super incredible. Unlike CryptoKitties, that involves buying, breeding, and selling of CryptoKitties, which maybe quite boring for me, Axie Infinity has battle mode, which is very captivating. Unlike World of Ether that you would have to pay for every battle move you make, which makes battling quite expensive, axie infinity doesn't allow it's players pay for battle move.
There is good news, they will release an Android version later this year, and also make some cool update like creating achievement system, guild wards, dungeons, story mode, player profiles and more.
This game could be the next thing in crypto gaming. I rate this game a massive 4.9 out of 5.0.
