War Riders is a massively multiplayer online(MMO) strategy game where you blow up other players in a post-apocalyptic 3D environment and earn cryptocurrencies.

Basically the game play is about driving around way points, raid other players and take their coins. These coins are in form of tokens called Bezene(BZN) based on Ethereum blockchain. The goal is to collect as much benzene as possible.

All other forms of money are gone and Benzene is the only currency left to trade in this Wasteland. «Mine» for it by driving through waypoints and raid other players to take their coins. Become the most powerful and wealthy army by expanding your garage locations, buying better weapons, and killing for influence. Offer protection to other players and earn ETH.

So you can go burning other vehicles up with your weapons and return to your home(garage) safely with your Benzene without being robbed by other players.

The set up and game play tries to be so realistic, Just like the movie Death race Mad max or Doomsday, the game tends to quite emulate such a wasteland set up with the style armed cars. As well just like in these movies, more powerfully upgraded vehicles with weapons are most likely to be invincible so the same applies in this game.The ultimate game mission is to become most powerful, build a more powerful army and protect other players to earn eth.

Game play Strategy

You can own as many vehicles, weapons and garages as possible and these same items are upgradable for better performance in order to survive in the wastelands.You can upgrade for nitro capacity, armor strength,weapon accuracy and so on, so precisely you can use your own money to purchase these upgrades.Luckily trading an item will not require to send a transaction to the network.

Shoot at other vehicles and aim at robbing all their Benzene that you will run away with to your garage. Each mission to the wasteland is started by filling up your vehicle with some Benzene just like fuel. You are always required to protect your robbed BZN and hunt for more of it. Are you under attack? Surrender or purchase a one time shield, not in the mood to fight? nitro boost is your way to evade from the enemies. Likewise you can wait around for someone to battle for their Benzene and rob them.

Rent out your garage and vehicles for a fee that is dynamically adjusted for better deals.Vehicles can also be sold to players for eth at a manually adjusted price.

In-game economics.

These coins are called benzene(BZN) tokens which 1BZN=0.5usd. Benzene is the War Riders in-game virtual currency and can be exchanged just like any other token, it is being considered to be put on some exchanges like crex24
For now it is not possible to just purchase Benzene, The only way to mine Benzene is to drive through way points and collect some. The total supply of benzene is only 100Million tokens and only 75% of it is mineable in the game. Currently participating in the pre-order campaign will get you a chance to mine a huge chunk of BZN during the beta testing during your early gaming days. The earlier the better if this game interests you.

Benzene can used for a lot of things like purchasing guns, additional garages, nitro boost and many more. So literally in the game the more the benzene the more you can advance and the easier it gets to earn more benzene.The more you survive the higher the chances of discovering benzene which typically is the only coin left in the wastelands to gather. You can upgrade your weapons, kill for influence which in return makes you more powerful.

Items like cars, garages,and guns can be sold for Eth while other additional parts like nitro, armor can only be sold for benzene.

Getting started

For beginners, one has to purchase a vehicle in order to start wandering about in the wastelands.You can use your cryptocurrency to get started with the cheapest car if you so wish. Luckily the game play makes it impossible for someone to lose their car that they actually paid for, If you are blown up, you will lose only the benzene and maybe your car getting some temporary difficulties

War Riders is running a pre-order sale for vehicles. Desktop users are recommended to own either an Erc20 or Erc721 compatible wallet like metamask wallet. Mobile users can use Cipher or coinbase wallet. Currently the pre-sale activity is still private so for anyone to join they must user an invite like that may not be so hard to get I suppose.

As soon as you own the necessary items like vehicles and weapons, you can start competing in the wastelands.

My verdict.

War Riders is a great game that has a lot going for it. The implementation of a side chain will mostly likely bring a lot of improvements like speed. The graphics are cool and the game is not so power hungry for any laptop or phone can play it. Getting started with the game is quite hard if one is a crypto newbie as the initial vehicle and weapon purchases cost money and the pre-order is a closed one that requires an invite link. Otherwise War Riders is a great game with nice visuals, direct, simple game play and is very promising of future improvements.
