At home page, you have two direct options to use Status or get involved. You can either become a user of it by downloading it in your android or ios device. Also you can become contributor by choosing either of three options - Developers, educators and community groups.
To get Status Dapp in your mobile device or desktop you have to click on below button on home page - Get Status
One of the impressive features about status is that it is available in all major versions for all kinds of devices. On click 'Get status' button you will be routed to below page where you make your choice.
The other way to get involved with Status is by becoming a contributor and you have three options for this.
Way 1 to contribute- Developer
Status is building software under Mozilla Public license 2.0 and it invites community members of different backgrounds to contribute in Status monthly release. This also includes contributions to bounties and community driven initiatives.
Way 2 to contribute- Educator
Status considers two factors important for its success- education and a welcoming environment. For this they invite anyone who can help educate people about Status and how to start using it.
Way 3 to contribute- Community contributor
Status has commmunity based groups running within it. You can join an existing group or you can start your own new group under Status based on your personal interests which will help grow the open source project.

Things I disliked about Status
Lets look at what can be improved.
Honestly I really the dapp altogether, it lets me chat privately with my friends and perform transactions as well. It sends messages in an encrypted manner. The only thing that can be surely improved in Status is its UI. Their UI is really boring, we are living in an ERA of fancy amazing websites, this is where they can and they should upgrade a little bit.
Conclusion
Status is amazing overall, it lets you do private messaging and lets you perform transactions. Plus, it also lets browse on web in the most secure manner. Securtiy is the most promising feature of status and they will not disppoint you on this one.
