Buy the Dip
Bits of my teeth are gonna start chipping soon from grinding them every time I hear someone refer to Steemit as "decentralized". Not only is Steemit, Inc. a centralized hierarchy, the Steem blockchain itself was launched then re-launched in such a way to ensure market dominance for a select few.
Interesting to see who observed this and objected to it at the time. Someone many of us know and love (to hate).

Or What Is Steem ... from which the money quotes are: "Steem (symbol) is a Centralized cryptocurrency," and, "Steem‘s governance structure is: Centralized > Hierarchical."
Notice it says "Steem's governance", not "Steemit's governance".
So fine. Like bid-bots and whales voting for inactive witnesses to protect their market dominance from (decentralized) threats, my problem is more with the deceptive marketing and those who didn't think before buying the dip:
It's worth noting that this information is two years old and public. A dozen different web search strings return these results and more. I'm far too new on this platform to be the one ripping off this band-aid, but somebody obviously needs to do it.
Things that make you go Hmmm.
Well, you always hear about "the blockchain" (when thinking of Crypto - Ethereum, Bitcoin, etc.) being "decentralized."
I guess that's why "we" all thought that Steemit was "decentralized" - because it IS a "blockchain."
So you're saying not so much. Something to think about.
Thanks for bringing light to the issue. (And sorry for what is probably a completely inappropriate use of quote marks.....Just picture air quotes when you read it 😉)
