Today we will talk about the Witnesses. Do not worry everything will be easy and you will understand everything.

Our Steem does not look like Facebook or Blogspot. Steem does not have a central server. This is its great advantage. Our system can not be turned off or somehow damaged. Steem is a decentralized system. And it's cool.
There is no specific organization that says "the server will be here." Steem server is known as "node" often. Anyone can become the owner of the server. And it can be in the USA, and in Ukraine, in the forest, and in Antarctica. Even in space.

The man who launches the node becomes a Witness. For this work Witnesses receives a reward. 1 Steam Power per 1 Block. Long chain of blocks is any blockchain. Our Blockchain produces 1 block every three seconds. This does not mean that, for a minute, the Witness receives 20 Steam Power. The reward is distributed unevenly between the Witnesses.
That is why there is a system of voting for the Witnesses. The more votes the witness receives from other users, the more blocks he will be able to make.

It's like an election.
It is not enough to start the Steem server It is also necessary to gather a lot of votes. It motivates Witnesses to accept (organize) various useful projects.
Each of us can choose up to 30 Witnesses. You can change this choice as much as you want.

Therefore, vote for good Witnesses. It's a real choice for people who make Steem the best.
