Lazarus! A workstation/machine/server that has never given up on me!
This machine I am currently on I have named Lazarus nearly a year ago. If you know anything about motherboards and cpus you know there are usually 4 screw holes to mount your cpu's heat sink to. They usually are configured in an x or + manner. On Lazuarus's motherboard a worker ripped the right 2 (of the total 4) screw holes out. Leaving simply the left side bracket able to be mounted and tightened to the motherboard.
11 Months ago I attempted to fix this machine and super glued and hot glued the mounting bracket back on! The machine ran until today when I went to move it! But never doubt Lazarus!
Seeing that the glue that held the bracket to the motherboard had broken, I decided that wasn't a good long term fix.. What I came up with took even less time and frankly is the best solution I can think of!! I grabbed a 2x1 little block of scrap wood and shoved it between the case and the heat sink, holding it in place! 10 hours now and it still is running! This machine deserves it's name!
Long live Lazarus! This machine can't be killed!

Frankenstein wasn't pretty to look at but he was strong
It was a quick fix, cost $0 and took less than 20 seconds! Been up now 11 hours! What more can I ask for? That machine cost over $1,000 to replace! Everyday I can get out of it is worth it! I can even still close the case <3 You wouldn't even know in the server room that it is messed up!
