NEW USERS AND SHORTCUTS
Over the last few days I have seen loads of new users and trying to put them on the straight and narrow. They just don't understand this place and haven't taken the time to see what is required. This place is not straight forward and just maybe it's not for them.
One of the users has been on here for 4 months and is as naive as they come. At least after a certain time period you would realize whatever you are doing is not working and change to try something else or ask someone. I think he was following around 10 people and wandered why he was struggling.
Before the Hard Fork you had the chance and opportunity of doing as many comments as you wanted. There were no restrictions so why weren't you interacting? I have no sympathy with these users who have missed the whole concept of how to grow organically. The opportunity and limited time window for these accounts has now closed and it will be a struggle from now on.
Four or five months was enough time for this account to at least grow to a point of standing on their own feet. I don't mind guiding new users with advice but there are just too many of them and maybe we should have a go to page for new users which they have to read before starting on the site.
Something that is short and sweet and gives them advice on how to play on Steem. When you open your account a link drops down which they have to read before they move on.I would have appreciated something like that when I first started and would've saved me days of hunting for things to learn in order to understand.
Maybe this would help with retention of new users as they wont just expect as they will understand building and growing an account takes time.

This "welcome, you have to do this:" message need to write on many language. Because what i see, is that, most of these "lunatic" people simple not understand the english, and cant read any english tutorial.
And noone have the demand, write some guide for these non-english people.
So this people have maybe wrong informations, poor behavior, and unknown rules on an unknkown language platform.
I've thought about this before as well but i fear this place is not an easy task to make such because there's hardly a topic here that can be short enough, I jusst feel most of these new users don't like to read so much. My firsts few months here was committed to reading. There are answers everywhere from different background of people on steemit, i tell people, just search a title and read,,,even if one wont be 100% clear, then the person will be closer to the answer than not...
howdy sir cryptoandcoffee! yes sir they do need to improve initial information, maybe they should make little 2 minute videos to show people how things work for each topic or question.
Do you know if new people are joining? With a retention rate of 6% before the hardfork I can only imagine how bad it is now.
