Wrapping your head around the numbers.

I love numbers and they make sense to me and this place is all about numbers.The SP you are holding has a direct influence on the curation rewards you can make. Your vote is governed by your SP holding and will fluctuate in value depending on the price of Steem. Everything points back to the SP you are holding. Some of us take this place seriously and the figures below will tell you why.

I pinched some info on some of the figures of one of tarazkp's posts, what are friends for.. The aim of this post is to try and show you where we are and what needs to happen for Steem to become even more important in the crypto world. The scarcer Steem is the more the value will rise. This is what makes this different to other crypto coins as by holding them we still earn and that is what this game is all about. The more that is held by everyone on here the less there is on the exchanges. I am hoping at some point we can start raiding the exchanges and transferring Steem back to the platform. Dream scenario I know, but that would be the ultimate.

I am sure most of you saw the post from theycallmedan the other day when he mentioned there is enough Steem for 300 000 accounts each holding 1000 Steem Power. In the context of investors and new accounts that are joining every day it really isn't a lot.

I was curious as it is actually less than that because of what is being held on here now and I looked at the accounts who have more than 1000 SP currently. Sure some are investors and will power down at some point when Steem starts showing some real value. I was curious where we were though currently against the 300 Million Steem though, not forgetting there is more that 70 Million on all the exchanges. That equates to 70 000 accounts holding 1000 Steem. We are now looking for 230 000 accounts.

This is a hard one as we know Steemit Inc holds some massive amounts of coins and surely they will power down quite a bit at some point. I don't think that is too bad though as new users will need Steem by then to do anything on here.

I did a rough calculation of what is on the platform being held in the accounts already and went on the low side so as not to get carried away. I included the Steemit accounts as that is what is being held right now and the exchanges plus as I said the low side of everyone else.

If we look at the top 200 accounts holding Steem and yes some are being held by Steemit so they could power down when Steem rises significantly and maybe some of the others as there are some investors amongst them. There is give or take around 135 Million Steem just here, which according to Dan's post would work out to 135 000 accounts holding 1000 Steem each. The balance of everyone else is holding the equivalent of 45 000 accounts holding 1000 Steem so combined that is 180 000 accounts holding 1000 Steem.

This is 60 percent of the total of the 300 000 accounts required, leaving another 120 000 accounts to go. It is actually less because that isn't including what is on the exchanges. Factor in the growth rate of the accounts that are on here already then it is a little less than 50 000 accounts required holding 1000 Steem. This is really not a huge number and there has to be a tipping point when the value will rise on itself due to demand because of it's scarcity.

Breaking it down this way shows we are on a ticking time bomb and every Steem that you power up makes it move closer and closer to finally exploding. This doesn't take into account the various apps that will come here over the next year or so tying up more Steem. The future looks very good and all we need to do is what we are doing right now and just keep growing and helping others grow around you.
