Sometimes the sailors have to trust the Captain call... A short tale on Steem

Emotions run high as the ship sails through uncharted waters, sailors are anxious as the Captain has gone silent. From time to time the Captain sends out a message but his sailors aren't convinced his decision would secure their survival. A sailor worse nightmare is the Captain who abandons the ship. This piece is along the line of shared concerned and most importantly having the perspective as the title suggest. I am in no way being the cheerleader and with that in mind, I like to take a quote from 'Jack Sparrow' in the movie "Pirates of the Caribbean".

“The problem is not the problem. The problem is your attitude about the problem. Do you understand?” With that quote in mind, I believe it captures Steemian concern about the Steem team approach. These power downs and the manner they communicated wasn't the best of timing. One of the criticism of Steem is its trend, with some pointing out it only benefits a few as these stakeholders raid any rise in price. Many would have interpreted these power downs as the trend continuing and the price having no chance of recovering. While Steem enjoys a strong community, several are under heavy water, as investments has yielded little return. In fact, many of the TOP100 coins on CoinMarketCap would have experience rallies in percentage ranges of 60 to 90% in the last couple weeks, Steem has fail to see anything of significance. I certainly understand people frustration, especially when it seems like its going to be business as usual. Probably its a good time for the Steem team to step back and consider whether their stake and continuous selling is holding this project back. We have to be honest, this Steem price trend has to be reverse or else it would be a painful ride to the bottom. Prominent exchanges has voice their concern, Steem cannot even get back within 10% price range to resume wallet service on Bithumb.

Nonetheless, with all these stated above, I also have to consider that trusting the process and the team may be the prudent approach but the concerns of the community must be address. For what its worth, lets continue to throw our support behind the Steem team and its Captain. Lets give this some perspective with another quote from 'Jack Sparrow',
"This is either madness, or brilliance.” (Will Turner) “It’s remarkable how often those two traits coincide.” Probably this move from the team and the FUD it created work out. An "if" I believe the move is made to create a market marker, I believe its heading in the right direction.

This is my two cents on the matter and as always keep Steeming on...

Well said. Let me also add what I've been shouting from my little street-side podium since the massive, programmed, and ongoing "Hater" attacks on my conservative blog began over a week ago...WE MUST ALSO HARDFORK OUT UNLIMITED AND MALICIOUS IDEOLOGICAL DOWNVOTING, or conservatives (the vast majority of Americans) will never be willing to invest here.

(Also...thanks!)
