Steem needs to get on top of their game: After DLive saga and the lost PieDiePie whats next???

in #steem5 years ago

Steem needs an injection of life and possibly some deep reflection on what exactly Steem is aiming to achieve. If you been around Steem long enough, you probably came across the DLive saga, a tale of the Steem Team getting played like a violin and DLive team milking platform and its users until it gained enough analysis of what works and what don't before making the announcement of its departure. DLive in particular was gaining a lot of attention and traction on the platform and outside on various social media, I wasn't to surprise when they announce their departure as they try to build their own platform. Steem itself was going through some rough times, token price was low and things were on the edge. It probably was a strategic time for the DLive team to make its move and it was met with disappointment and disgust by users on the Steem platform. Now that PieDiePie has align itself with DLive platform, its further fuel and momentum for DLive going forward. So how does this work for Steem....

For those who do not know, PieDiePie was also on the Steem platform for some time before taking a low profile. Reasons for the subsequent low profile and low posting is anyone guest at this time. Nonetheless, with social media sensation like PieDiePie its all about momentum and aligning themselves with brands and concepts that further the goals of market share dominance and popularity. Having one of the biggest Youtube subscribers, this endorsement of DLive by PieDiePie certainly adds some momentum to Dlive platform. For Steem, DLive was certainly a big loss and if DLive was still part of the Steemit family of dapps, this certainly would have add some much needed momentum to Steem. So whats needed by Steem.....

Steem needs an injection of life and possibly a re-launch particularly setting a tone of what the blockchain is hoping to achieve. Thus far Steem has not been able to gather enough momentum to maintain its presence on various social media and its token price has reflected that reality. What is probably disappointing for users and the Steem enthusiast is the overall performance of the token, every rally has been greeted with subsequent sellers resulting in a downward spiral. The project has not been able to break into listing of some of the biggest exchanges and that probably adds to the disappointing performance. As the cryptocurrency space moves forward, projects that can properly aligns their goals and make strategic association would further take market share away from projects that linger behind. Steem needs a late 2017 to early 2018 performance to capture the attention of the masses again and get more people back onto the platform. If it cannot achieve that, it probably head down the path of a slow and frustrating lost of its user base as users look to other platforms that offer better opportunities and token performance shows promise. Lets see how things play out in the coming days, I am still confident something is in the works and it could play out soon.
