[Steem talk] Extra curation reward with @wherein

in #steem5 years ago

Often we stumble across curation super star that talks about how effective their curation is, and also we have seen technical fact sheet about how to curate effectively we can or can't be. I am going to give you a rough idea of how to do it without knowing what to do.

Technically, curation reward is defaulted as 25% of what we upvote. Take an example, an account with 150sp upvoting 100% at once, would produce $0.004, 25% meaning 0.001SBD should we expect to receive. Simulation can be done via steemworld.org/@username

Do take note, going out is SBD, but curation reward is in SP. So what we have here is 0.001SBD, we need to use it to divide by Steem/SBD value. Where can we find that? Again, in Steemworld. Head to Orders tab and the current market value is there.

image

Divide anything smaller than 1 would mean increasing the original number. In this case, 0.001 ÷ 0.472 = 0.002sp and more. You'll probably be asking, why should I vote since my tiny little vote worth nothing? As we discussed earlier during the beginning of this article, 150sp gives only 0.004SBD, it doesn't mean if you have less than that your vote will not get you anything in return! You can still earn question reward, by upvoting potential posts that may have a whale come to vote later than you! That involves with a huge formula to calculate. We're just going to skip that for now, because I don't know how to calculate either. All I know is, go in before the big shot. Fair enough? Here I use @dailyke20 as an example. The account only have 80sp effective, current 100% vote worth only 0.002SBD.

Some of those platform offering a front runner, we can actually tap on their curation. A big shootout to a dear friend of mine @iguazi123 that allowing us to take a huge ride with @wherein curation. Many does not understand how this work, here is what I did. By using steemauto to follow @wherein-bit which is their front runner account.

All I gotta do is follow @wherein-bit citation trail. I have set my following vote as 0 minute, 100% fixed voting weight since I only have 0.002, I will lower it down as I grow bigger. I set my threshold as 80%, which means whenever my voting power fall below 80%, Steemauto will stop voting to conserve my energy. Every vote that I follow, will have a whale tailing behind, which is @wherein

Sending 0.002SBD out, but collecting back 0.002sp, who give you that kind of return? If you're a plankton, has absolutely no idea how to utilize your SP, this is a good platform with a front runner that may help you to grow. Best of all, it's free! And you'll still be able to have access to your own voting power with full control. It's an alternative from delegation. It's your steem power, you decide what to do with it. Don't you look down on that tiny curation reward, it's free. How many times we seen posts payout with 0 reward already? Why not make the most out of it? Thanks to @wherein delayinf their upvote and we can tap on the front runner to earn extra curation reward even without doing anything other than setting the auto trail upvote one time.

I hope this article can help those with smaller Steem Power and be benefit from it. If you like my work, please upvote, resteem and smash that follow button. Cheers.

Ocdb has a front runner?

Posted using Partiko Android

Haha not really, have to manually trace on the queue on thegoodwhales.io.

So much of hassle. I'd rather tag with @superoo7-dev to upvote the whole #teammalaysia

Haha got point 🤣

One can still commit to front run OCDB, but need to consider their whitelist users are highly reputable and already high pay. Given one already have 3$ payout on their post, they decided to spend 4SBD to get a 6$ extra payout. The post has a chance to hit 10$. The problem is, from 10 down to 3 is about 3x. Which means, the vote you cast, after minus author payout has to be high enough to hold 3x multiplier and within the threshold of not burning. In a way, one must vote very high to get paid, or it will burn more going to the people in front of you 😂

Ya, if too Low really becomes nothing. So far, my lowest to front run OCDB is around 0.002 SP with my vote at 5% just like this (value around $0.002 to $0.004). Not a bad deal to me though.

It's a good source of passive income while being a plankton. Probably more if your become mini whale someday.

Exactly. Best part is, remain a major portion of SP when needed, and considering RC is important now, try delegate all out, will even have trouble trying to recover from massive VP drops

basically you join the curation trail and get upvotes in return?

Nope. But your curation reward will increase because they place a bigger upvote a minute behind the front runner.
