When we're taking our first baby steps within the platform it's usual that we don't understand or know how to do many things, it has happened to all of us. Motivated by it, this is the first "How to" that I publish always looking for simplicity so that it is easy to digest, as much as a green juice in the morning. I must say that this isn't the only way to trade coins here on the platform, but, this is the one I use most frequently.

WHAT DO WE NEED?

• A phone, a tablet, a laptop or a pc.
• Have at hand our "Private Active Key"
• This post
• A cup of tea or coffee.

Ready?... let's get started.

STEP #1 ACCESS

We log into our Steemit profile and then access our wallet which is located on the top right, just before the configuration window. As shown below:

STEP #2 MARKET

Once we get into our wallet, we can see our STEEM, STEEM POWER, and STEEM DOLLARS (SBD) amounts. On the right side of the STEEM and SBD balances, we can see a downward arrow in which if we click we'll have access to a drop-down menu where we will find the market. As shown below:

STEP #3 BUY - EXCHANGE

Then, inside the market, when I want to buy STEEM I select one of the prices located in the "sell orders" section because in the past when I've selected from the "buy" column on some occasions I have had to wait too long for the order to be processed and even sometimes it hasn't been processed. However, this is optional.

When we're having already done the previous step, there, on the SBD box we must write the number of coins we're willing to trade, this will automatically generate the amount of STEEM we'll get and finally, we must click on the option "BUY STEEM".

STEP #4 CONFIRM THE TRANSACTION

We're almost done! It was easy, wasn't it? For our transaction to be successful we must confirm it twice. The first time we'll see a dialog box with the amounts to be exchanged and in which we must select "Ok". The second time will be a dialog box that will ask us for our username and our Private active key. Remember I told you to keep it close? Well, now is the time to use it.

STEP #5 ET VOILÁ

And this is it! There's nothing more to do. When our order has been sent to the blockchain we'll see a message like the one shown in the screenshot below. The transactions are almost instantaneous. Now we just have to enjoy our crypto according to what we have planned.

The STEEM blockchain has a million possibilities, projects, Dapps and communities for its users. Recently, a new project was integrated to it that gives us rewards for the influence we have on the platform if you don't know what I'm talking about, just let me know below in the comments section and I'll gladly make a post of it.
