BitCoin isn't doing so great either
although it does seem to be recovering a bit since the last drop.
So what to do?

I can't (and won't) offer any financial advice (this isn't)
but as for me...I'll continue on.
Steem is a social media platform...like FaceBook, Twitter and Instagram.
If I get paid on Steem..that's just gravy.
If I don't...well none of the other social platforms pay either.
Nice to have gravy, makes the meal a whole lot better. :-)
Do you think the coming fork will help? When is steemit going to actively compete with facebook? Questions questions!

it would appear that the price of Steem is HUGELY affected by the price of BitCoin.
If that 'tie that binds' could be broken it would be a good thing...IMHO.
perhaps HF20 will do that?
Steemit doesn't need to compete with FB...it needs to go it's own way and carve out a new niche.
FB is so last decade.
Steemit was never built to be a real competitor to facebook...
It is competition to medium, maybe reddit.
There's just far too much missing from Steem to really compete with Facebook for users.
All we can do is keep going and hope things pick up. The whole market is shit but steem has really taken a hit this month.
