How much SP atleast I need?
this may be your question if youbhave been recently joined Steemit.
I need to clarify so.ething first, if you are that new:
STEEM vs SP
Steemit is a frontend on the STEEM platform. while STEEM is a cryptocurrency which is tradable in different places, Steem Power (SP) is a not-tradeable token, which only lives on steemit.com
as a blogger
when you start your fresh account, you have 15 SP delegated. so you can start posting and have engagements. though the first upvote to your post, would be probably your own! which worths nothing.
if you want to have self post voting reward, you need to power up with more STEEM.
It means you need to exchange steem to SP.
what is the minimum?
it depends on the price of the STEEM in the market. right now it's around 0.95 UScents, and I remember once it was 7 USD!
at the current rate, you need to have atleast 200 SP to get a 0.01 STU (the number you see below your post, which includes 0.25 curation reward, 0.375 as SBD and 0.375 as USD in SP) confused? don't panic, read this!
So if you want to see anything more than 0.00 $ below your posts afyer you press the upvote button, you should buy 200 STEEM and power up to 200SP.
for curators
If you want to be entitled for curation reward... then how much is the minimum SP you should hold?
again with the current level of steem, which is around 1 USD we do the math:
25% of the STU will go to the curators. and the minimum of curation reward is 0.001 SP. so if you have 80 SP, over a minimum of 0.01 STU gained post curated by you, you will recieve 0.001
wait! not that simple, it should be 0.01 STU gained after your vote and only upvoted by you!
So again you need 200 SP to gain 0.001 curation in the worst case scenario. (best case was 80SP)
All above calculations will change if the price of STEEM changes against USD.
For example if 1 STEEM reaches 2 USD, minimum SP for 0.01 STU will be 100 SP (HALLELUJAH!)
Good info. https://steemworld.org/ has an option to simulate your SP, so you can see how much you need to get an upvote.

if you mean the bar in the main page, it says how much YOUR SP at each voting power worth, not how much some SP worth
If I put 200 in here, my vote is estimated to be worth $0.01. 20000 is worth $1.25, wish I had that money to invest :)

let me excite you a bit more: if you had 20,000 SP now, in 2019 the price of STEEM could get to 3.6 levels (which is NO WAY impossible, actually it is supposed to be around 6!) and you would eventually have 60,000 USD more than what you had invested in one year!
add those money you have made during last year through your voting power :D
