Steem and ShapeShift

It has been weeks now, if not months, since ShapeShift has been able to accept conversions of Steem. The wallet remains temporarily unavailable. Does anyone know why? I'm starting to get concerned that Steem can't be exchanged with ease.

    I just found out blocktrades can be used to convert out of steem as well as buy it. Nevertheless, I am still interested if anyone knows why Steem is temporarily unavailable on ShapeShift.
