• On 14 June 1975 Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman inaugurated the country's first independent Bangladesh spacecraft by inaugurating the country's first land satellite center at Betbunya.

• Bangladesh on 11 November 2015 signed an agreement to build Bangabandhu Satellite-1 with Thalass Alenya Space in France.

• Orbital slots are bought for 15 years for about 15 million taka from Russia's Intercaptanak for launching Bangabandhu Satellite-1 and keeping it in orbit.

• The location of the orbit of Bangabandhu Satellite 1 in space 119.1 East longitude.

• Falcon Nine Rocket will fly with Bangabandhu Satellite 1 from the launch pad of the SpaceX at the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida, USA.

• Two ground stations were built in Joydebpur of Gazipur and Batbunia of Rangamati. From there, Bangabandhu satellite-1 will be controlled.

• A company named 'Bangladesh Communication Satellite Company Limited' has been formed for the purpose of commercial and commercial activities of Bangabandhu Satellite-1.

• There will be 40 transponders in the Bangabandhu satellite. For the use of 20 transponders Bangladesh and the remaining 20 transponders will be rented to foreign companies.

• Datab (direct-to-home) services, satellite television broadcasts and internet services will be available in 40 services from Bangabandhu Satellite-1.

• Only foreign currency will not be saved through Bangabandhu satellite-1, as well as around 50 million US dollars will be earned every year by rent in countries like Nepal, Bhutan.

• Total cost of implementation of the Bangabandhu-1 satellite project is Tk 2,765 crore.
