In some ways, we joined Steemit in similar fashion - we joined because we wanted to start a travel blog, but never got around to it. We were unsure about readership if we started a WordPress blog and if it would be worth the yearly subscription. Fast forward two years and a suggestion from a member on this crypto "investment" group on Facebook (now discontinued due to spamming) to look into Steemit. We thank him for the suggestion and it's interesting how life plays out. You find yourself in some dodgy "investment" group and end up in a safe haven of posting posts about what you want and earn crypto from it!
For the future, exactly what you want from Steemit. Hopefully with the SMTs, different communities on the Steem blockchain can reward their own community members/contributors fairly. We shall see if this plays out.
Yes, we believe we would have been one of those to give up after a year. Yet, our mentality has changed as we are posting because we have time and it's for us. It's a hobby. Earning crypto is just a bonus! Which is great 👍🏼
I like the promise of generating income from my blog without adds or sponsors. I like to be able to express myself freely and meet new people who are also excited about the platform. It’s a good place to be and it works wonderfully well.
For the future I hope to be able to consult my own entries in a more organized fashion, by month and without seeing my resteems. I also want to hear more from Steemit INC about what measures this platform is taking to minimize its impact on the environment.
