The Return Of The Spammer
Has anyone else noticed that the post-HF20 cleanliness of the comment sections has given way to a small number of spammy and brainless comments from rep-25-and-below users?
I've received a few in my latest posts and the posts of others. I've been gently flagging them to reduce their visibility. Flagging braindead or spam comments is something that I've last had to do last spring when HF20 was but a twinkle in the eye of the Steemit Inc devs and when the price of STEEM was three times as high as now. The spam did lessen when the price went back to the vicinity of one dollar in June. What I'm happy about is that so far I've only seen stupidity and no phishing attacks. Didn't the RC parameters get tweaked to give newbies more Mana recently?
Last patch affecting RC's has been 9 days ago and at this point most of the network seems to be on up to date
Even though I'm small enough to notice major RC changes, I was powering up at around patch time so didn't notice much. Looking at a standard, unpowered (25) account (something like this?), they should have no more than 2-3 posts/comments a day once they expend the initial 13.
Feeble spamming attempts will never go away, I guess, but seems like things are still mostly under control.
