What's Most Important For Your Growth On Steem?

in #steem5 years ago

Let's examine a few factors.

A) Who you know

Who your friends are and how much stake they have is very, very important. If you're onboarded by someone with a lot of SP, you're going to get a headstart. There is no denying that. You're going to have to power up, though. Having mined a massive amount SP in the early days is the only shortcut to fame apart from having very deep pockets and buying a motherload of SP.

B) Your content

Obviously, the better your content, the more people will like it and want to upvote it or decide to follow you. You more likely to get support from powerful users. Unfortunately, you can be a wellspring of creativity but if you totally neglect socializing, making friends and marketing your personal brand, getting reliable support will be impossible. There are content creators whose output is of consistently high quality but whose rewards are small. What these people have often neglected to do is network.

Consistency is also important for a content creator. People are creatures of habit. That includes yourself and your readers. If you come up with content regularly, you will get regular readers and upvoters. Consuming your content will become a habit for them. You want to aim for that.

C) Your Steem Power

The more Steem Power you have, the more valuable your vote is. You will be able to grow your stake by upvoting your own posts. You will also be able to support others and earn larger curation rewards. You will have easier time gaining followers and engaging your followers. The average quality of the engagement you attract might be quite low, however. You will be in a position to reward high quality commentators, of whom you will attract more than you would with very low stake. You can also invest your SP in projects. Some people delegate to bid bots. I'd recommend @ocdb because it is used only by those whitelisted for their quality content.

Which of these factors are the most important one in your opinion? What other factors do you consider important? Is there anything else you'd like to say?

Sort:

I believe it is about the mix of all factors. Someone with great content, but low SP and Reputation is differently perceived than someone with great content a lot of both :) probably the best is finding a great balance

Thank you. Usually I think the content is very important though most people can for SP.

Very nice article.

Steem and SBD are rising in value!
Would you say it’s a good time to buy some SP with SBD and Steem!?
Should I keep more Steem than SBD?

Litecoins are gaining fast! Is it the right time to get some?!

Thanks!

Very difficult to say if this is the optimal timing to buy. If you want to hold long term, I guess today is as good as any day, in my personal opinion.
