20 Cents Steem? 800 Steem - 321

I think next month Steem will hit 20 Cents. I think it will hit 30 cents this month. It's at about 33 cents right now. There was some support around 37/38 cents but it fell.

Right now I think it takes about 800 Steem for a solo 100% upvote at 100% voting power to be about at the payout threshold to actually count but that number will probably rise soon and with a falling Steem price if you vote on a post today I think you would need like 1000 Steem power to have it count in 7 days maybe even more.

Upvoted and resteemed. 👍

Thanks. I 100% upvoted your comment but it wasn't enough to bring it to the top.

Thanks my voting power is down so my 100% vote is not great right now. I terminated some delegations I had so I hope to have a decent vote soon. It’s been hard not to vote 100% because Steem is so cheap right now.

You have been seeming more powerful than normal although I lost some of my delegations so maybe that's why.

Here’s my bidbot on a comment. I paid 0.02 Steem for a comment upvote. Your right is certainly higher here then with 20 other votes. It’s 300% or 3:1
But it’s 0.02 Steem to 0.06 Steem and it’s the only BidBot that I know which upvotes comments.
But I will experiment with the others bidbots
Here’s my return:

You did it wrong. What you should do is upvote yourself after 15 minutes and then use the bot. You might want to use a bigger bot as well. That bot vote might not even count.

Hi
I am not following you well: What you mean when you say the payout threshold?
Thanks

You need about 800 Steem Voting Power to be able to do a 2 cents vote. 700 Steem power equals about a 1.9 cents vote which doesn't count.

My rewards breakdown just changed from SBD and SP to Steem, SBD and SP. I was getting SBD and Steem Power for a few weeks.
I wonder what happened?

I resteemed a blog post about that 3 days ago. You should check it out.

Thank you
I found the post you resteemed and it was very helpful.

There is a debt ratio. For your .01 votes you might want to do 1% votes and then do a one cent upvote on the person's main blog post so you don't lose out on curation. I'm not sure if dustsweeper will be working very well now.

The blockchain dynamically reduces how much SBD is printed based on the % of debt it represents of the Steem economy. As Steem price has fallen our debt ratio has climbed, so less SBD are issued (probably none at this point!)

Interesting.
Thank you for the explanation.

Wow. I understand now. Thanks.
Thanks for reviewing. While reading your answer
I realized that I thought 100 Steem Power gave you a 1 cent vote, but I forgot my orginal conversions of Steem Power to fiat were based on the price of Steem at the time. So while I always remember 100 SP equals one cent. That’s no longer correct. So while it might give you 0.01 STU or Steem Token Units, the conversion to fiat is not a penny anymore. 🙁

Thanks for clarifying what you meant. 0.019
That’s where Dustsweeper kicks in.

Does dustsweepers still kick in on some of those votes still?....haven't seen a whole lot from them lately.

I am still seeing payments from Dustsweeper. You can check a recent post I made about Dustsweeper and I have a few links for FAQ in the references:
https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@champagnecrypto/puerto-rico-a-tax-haven-for-cryptocurrency-investors
💆‍♂️

It's still working but I bet it's missing a lot of votes. I do a lot of 1% votes now so I don't waste as much.

Why do a lot of 1% votes? Isn't it better to do fewer votes now with a higher %? Otherwise your votes will never get paid out. I just checked at Dustweeper and it seems to only upvote 2 posts a day for me.

I do the 1% votes for the people that I think have dustsweeper or to be able to upvote people even though it will go to dust for those that don't have it.
I also try and upvote blog posts sometimes so I know the vote actually counts.

Problem with that is that Dustsweeper only upvotes 2 posts a day per account.

That sucks. :( Hopefully @dustbunny works better.

I just recently made a delegation to @dustbunny which is a similar project that you can even “sign up” for free. I believe you can just comment on one of their posts or in their Discord. Got a first vote this evening and it looks promising.

Very interesting. I will check out @dustbunny
There’s always something new on the Steemit Blockchain!
Thank you!

Let us know if @dustbunny works. I tested this comment you just made.

Arn't the rules for votes on comments are different? I remember reading about it bunt can't find anything about it any more. Which Steemit hat a proper manual.

I'm personally thinking 0.15 USD. I will probably be buying more to get to 5000 Steem.

Wow that's a pretty big buy you are planning. I might try and buy like 1,000 when it gets around my target. Do you have a Paypal account?

Well, if the price would be 0.15 USD, that would only be about 525 USD from where I'm currently. That's not that much. Of course, who knows if it will hit that price. I of course do have a Paypal account.

Would you possibly be willing to sell some Steem to me?

Why not get some from Bittrex or Binance or some of the other exchanges?

How? I think they stopped taking credit card and I don't want to have to do a wire transfer.

Well, I have to wire it myself. But I just saw that Coinbase is adding Paypal as a payment option.

That could work although they probably want me to give them my ID which doesn't thrill me. :( It might be cheaper to pay you a 20% premium than to go through them though. I don't think coinbase has Steem so I'd have to do coinbase and then another exchange and then Steem.

That steem can't free itself from the lock with Bitcoin. For the last twelve month the 4 cryptos I own (Bitcoin, Ether, Litecoin, Steem) move in step. When Bitcoin moves the other move as well. I don't even bother checking all 4 coins. Just check one (usually Steem) and I know what happened to the other 3 as well.

So frustrating. Each coin has advantages and disadvantages and should move on there own. I suspect the large trade bots from institutional investors who don't evaluate the product any more.

I need to make a post about this. I think eventually Steem will break free since it does has the Steem Power value that Bitcoin doesn't have.

I am starting to wonder if its worth using bots during this drought. Our current post/comment rewards will be reducing along side the Steem price drop. I used a bunch today and barely broke even. I suspect a loss by the time my post gets to payout.

If you have the time it would be best to use them on comments and upvote your own comment after about 15 minutes or more and then use the bot.
The math is tough to figure out. I think even if the price falls like 30% you still might break even.

I think that sounds like a good strategy.
Thanks

Good advice ... I was doing this on a small scale with announcing winners in my giveaway in the comment section of the giveaway post instead of making a 2nd topic like allot of others do.

It's a pain to do and probably dumb unless you have extra free time. Easier just to work and buy Steem I think.

I am also experiencing very low STU unit rewards, most times the STU are lower then the Steem paid, so I am doubtful I will profit after curation, but it’s inconsistent as sometimes you get bigger then usual rewards. I have stopped using SBD for bots and use it to lease SP. But now my rewards are only in Steem and SP so that strategy has halted.

For some reason yesterday seemed like I needed at least + 10 % ROI on botracker to get a breakeven vote.

Bots aren't worth it in the long run. They hold back natural groth of the site. Might even destroy Steem.
