We have an announcement to make:
smartsteem can now be used by everybody!
(except spammers)
Regardless if whitelisted or not!
Our goal still remains, to support quality authors and posts on steem. That's why: whitelisted users have no daily or weekly limit and additional bonuses will follow. And we will be strict with un-voting and blacklisting spammers!
But the last few weeks have shown us how difficult it is to rate users with the given metrics. While it is possible, it takes simply too much time (~30 min - depending on the person who reviews) and the content of those steemians changes dynamically and thus re-views are needed - which increase the time significantly. Which means - we will still review but the smartscore system might have to change.
Another reason for this move is: when we started working on smartsteem - the amount of voting bots were only a handful. Now there are 5x - 6x the amount active, which makes it not sustainable with the closed amount of users that are whitelisted.
All in all - we believe that everything is a process and it is part of a process to learn what works and what doesn't.

How does it work?
Buying Upvotes
There are two ways to upvote your posts via smartsteem:
1.) Send transfer with post URL as memo and a specified amount (SBD or STEEM) - you will then receive an upvote equal to 135% of the price you pay. The curation we would receive will be refunded to you.
2.) Use our own Upvote-Tool. For this - go to https://smartsteem.com and click on Buy & Sell-Votes => Upvote Post. There you can do the same thing as in step 1 - but with the difference that you can see how much curation your post currently has and how much you will receive for your transfer. Additonally, you can also activate Auto-Upvotes and deposit SBD/STEEM so your posts get automatic upvoted.
Selling Votes
You can authorize smartsteem with your posting authority and receive 90% of every vote we make in your name. You can even decide on which users you want to sell your votes to!
