Steem Alliance Town Hall Q & A | This Sunday, February 10th at 8pm UTC

The Working Group is finishing up some details on the call for proposals (for the structure of the foundation) as well as starting to discuss the best process for the collection of the community proposals. We will have an announcement out as soon as possible to explain how the process will be done and to make the official call for structure proposals.

The community plays a huge role in this process and because of that, having an open form of communication is a top priority. We decided early on that having a weekly/biweekly town hall style meeting was one way to always keep the community informed of our progress, as well as getting valuable feedback.

This will also give the community an opportunity to come together and discuss ways we all can not only help to build this foundation, but to help to improve Steem as a whole.

The first one will be a Q & A style to give the community an update on the progress of the Working Group while also explaining some things and answering questions from the community itself. The goal is to have an open forum where we all can freely discuss topics and ideas with each other in the hopes to come together to do more.

Have a specific question you would like answered on the show?

  • Leave it in a comment below and we will do our best to answer it.

Can't make this townhall?

  • We will be working to find a time that can accommodate as many people as possible for future meetings. If that means we need to fluctuate days or times each week to cover timezones, we can do that.

The full town hall meeting will be recorded and posted on the @steemalliance blog. So, even if you can't make it, you can still take part. Just simply leave your specific question below and then check back for the post of the recording itself.

We hope to see you all there!

What is the Steem Alliance?

  • The Steem Alliance is an idea of a community coming together to build a foundation with the collective goal of improving Steem as a whole.

  • The goal of this future foundation is to be the combined “face of the chain”, working alongside additional groups as well as Steemit Inc. to better the Steem platform together. With a main focus on helping to push Steem into the mainstream arena with focus on marketing, upkeep of Steemit.com, development of steemd, outreach and Steem events. Funding would need to be fundraising/profit based but also with large seed from Steemit Inc. itself.

  • The goal of this Working Group is to oversee the establishment of the future foundation while ensuring transparency, fairness and that the community's voice is heard. Once the foundation is established, Working Group is disbanded.

or use servers powered by 100 % renewable energy ?

Is this a question you wanted the working group to somehow answer, or did you just think this was a great place to advertise? 😄

Fighting climate change should be n°1 priority for any organizations willing to improve our situation.

I'll translate this post into German to reach the German speaking steemians not fluent in English.

Awesome, thank you so much @muscara!

I upvoted your contribution because to my mind your post is at least 5 SBD worth and should receive 163 votes. It's now up to the lovely Steemit community to make this come true.

I believe that the current working group has done an outstanding job of nurturing an inclusive environment and transparency. Even detractors and cynics must admit this Working Group works toward these two goals.

I, for one, am saving the date !

Thank you. While the work is slow, we are trying to do it as fair as possible, thank you for acknowledging that.

Along with a few others (i.e., @ats-david), I am a big critic, or some may say drunken troll. Yet a troll makes one think!

Continue moving forward

Taking too long to see some work. Enthusiasm is low again.

Feel free to pitch in! More volunteers are always appreciated.

Why do you set up a discord meeting at a time that is suitable for US steemians only ?
Why don't you use a steem post instead ? or a forum like tokenBB ?
https://steemit.com/tokenbb/@cryptoctopus/test-tokenbb-and-earn-upvotes-usd3-00-or-more-per-valuable-feedback

Well considering only 2 members of the group are in the “US”, I’m not sure how this is geared towards that specific region and this time is used by many “international” discord shows as the best time to reach the most people.

This is a Steem post, right here, as well as the recording will be released on a Steem post as well.

When there is a suitable way, on chain, to hold voice meetings we will surely use it.

Thanks for your feedback.
