@jakeybrown Completed 1KSP: His Account Is Now Worth Over 1,000 SP
A while back I started the 1KSP project. This was not a huge initiative, just something that I put together to help newer accounts out.
My reasoning was fairly simple. I am a believer in the long-term value of STEEM and feel the price will be much higher a few years down the road. Thus, I felt that even $100K was life changing money to most people. Since I think that STEEM will be over $100 at some point, the idea is to help people get to the 1,000 Steem Power (hence 1KSP).
The first person that I "sponsored" was @mariannewest. She joined around the same time as myself and was able to get to the 1K level in January (if memory serves me right). Since that time, her account has grown even bigger which is very encouraging.
I encouraged her after she hit that level to adopt someone else and do the same for them. What is most uplifting about looking at her account is not only is she over 2200 SP, she also delegated out over 1200. This is what makes STEEM so special. The community here is filled with generous people.
Now we have @jakeybrown. His account passed the 1KSP mark although he has some of his money in SBD at the moment. I sponsored him right after @mariannewest hit her level. Over the past 4 months, @jakeybrown was consistent with his posting and commenting. His account great from very little when we started to where it is now.
He wrote a most flattering post about what took place that I would suggest you all read and, perhaps, reward him with an upvote.
@jakeybrown has a little one at home. I do write about the Age of Abundance because that is what I see unfolding before our eyes. Hopefully, through the upvotes I was fortunate to be able to give him, the path of his little one will be significantly better than it normally would have been.
And now it is time for @jakeybrown to adopt someone else. Part of the overall success on STEEM is to pay it forward.
There are others out there doing the same thing based upon posting this a few times. Since I do not receive feedback or have anything like a discord group surrounding this, the names of others who are involved escapes me (part of the aging process). One person I do know is supporting another is @preparedwombat. To the others that I overlooked, I apologize.
If you would like to help out in this manner, it is as simple as finding an active Steemian who is doing his/her best yet does not have a lot of SP. "Adopting" this person means committing to giving that person 1 or 2 100% upvotes each day until 1000 SP is attained. In return, the one adopted agrees not to take any SP (or SBD) out and to fully power up.
I realize there are many on here who need the money and I empathize with that. However, this program was meant to help build an account to a certain level. Pulling money out defeats that purpose hence the decision to require one to invest in the STEEM blockchain via SP.
The hope is now that we can check @jakeybrown's account in 4-5 months and he will be like @mariannewest with 2200 or more SP in his account.

Glad to see another member reaching the goal. Great job to you and the members of the 1KSP project for the continued efforts and drive to push the right people forward.
I'm trying to do this on a different scale with the BuddyUP project but it's more focused on the improvement and growth of all the members together. It would be nice to reach the 1K mark for my personal account and to sustain my longevity on the platform, but I feel like my efforts are better focused on those around me. Without them, I wouldn't have a platform.
Nice to check in and see the good you've been doing. Great job @jakeybrown, I don't need to tell you to stick with it, you'll have that locked down by now ;)
That is a very nice way to support someone! I didn't even know you were doing it. In fact, I was not aware that anyone was doing it. But anyway, keep it up! I'm sure you motivate the people who you support and they will develop the habit to support others as well. I think 1k SP is enough to make someone rich in the near distant future when Steem will be way up!

Trough the Daily freewrite prompt and now, through the @freewritehouse account, we are aiming to help a lot of people to achieve at least the 1000 SP if not more.
A lot of my success - if I may call it that way - was due to winning contests and powering up all the time.
Also, I have sponsored quite a few people into the Steembasic income initiative and that is of course, also a benefit to myself since I am getting a regular upvote as well.
Speaking of SBI and contests. We are holding regular contests at the @freewritehouse and launching a big one to celebrate 200 days of the Daily Prompt. We give away SBD (over 25 in the pot as of now) and memberships to SBI

It frustrates me I am slowly crawling to the point where I can be delegating and adopting and I support how I can now. I am perhaps in the enviable position where I do not have to cash out any of my SBD and occasionally buy upvotes for folks I see deserve more than my piddly .08 upvote.
It is kind of like what I do in my martial art......adopt a whitebelt and support them in their journey and it is fulfilling to say the very least.

I'm sort of a new member (I joined in January, but I didn't post in March at all), and I know how good it would have been if I had help from someone who has been on Steemit for a longer period of time.
I had to learn everything by myself, but I was really motivated.
And I'm still motivated.
Actually, even more than before, because I got 0.02$ upvote after few months here.
My goal is to get to 1$ upvote by the end of the year.

Congratulations to you @jakeybrown This is another success. 1KSP is one of the best projects. I was also adopted and it helped me a lot. I see a big difference now and my account is growing day by day. I joined many other useful projects as well and Steemit became more fun than it was. Thank you and keep up the good work :)
