Crypto Q&A

in #steem5 years ago (edited)

THIS IS NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE; THIS IS MY JOURNEY. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR MONEY.
Watch at 1.25x speed for a better viewing pleasure!

Money doesn't sit on the table long. When big investors see what Steem is really worth, being two weeks late could be the difference in life-changing opportunity.

The ability for Steem to be the Proof of Brain for the internet and form as a backbone for incentives communities whether it be bloggers, vloggers or Steem Monsters.

We will see projects built on top of Steem (@steemMonsters) that make it easy for people to buy in with fiat. This should be no different for every UI, be it for blogging or videos. An easy fiat on-ramp to Steem is, and we will see that ramp up in the future. People look at exchanges as the end all be all.

99% of people will never, ever use a transaction. I repeat, 99% of people will never, ever use a transaction. How many people buy apple phones as compared to Apple stock.

When someone wants to cash in and out of Steem, the projects that make that the easiest will be the ones that separate themselves from the pack. People wish to have one-click buy Steem in their account and one-click cashout into their legacy fiat wallets (banks, PayPal).

We are here, the foundation, the necessity in the age of Google and Facebook, we are the saving grace.

Would be a conspiracy if big players weren't moving the market down.
Crypto is so speculative and sentiment driven. - sheep
open source crypto is revolutionary since the internet.

Confidence.
Don't let outside influences dictate your beliefs.

The ability to buy blood.
You see why "buy low sell high" is a meme.
Knowledge is power = Confidence to buy blood.

"When millionaires inside trade, price pumps before the run, when billionaires inside trade the price dumps before the run."

Big time traders are feeling weary, possible sign the selling could end.

Steem is your voice, hold it dear.
Nothing great comes without first a bit of uncertainty.

Remember, there is not enough Steem for every user of Reddit to have 1 Steem; if a few Steem are needed to have accounts even function, there isn't much to go around.

Steem Witness Spotlight: @therealwolf

RealWolf's Reasons:
1.) Closing the gap between users and investors and
2.) Bringing value to developers of Steem and the whole eco-system.

My Personal Reasons:

  1. RealWolf- humble, started out with nothing but knew that to have a positive impact he had to build himself up first. "I can't give, what I don't have" - wolf outlook
  2. Made himself easy to approach and seems always to be around.
My, go to with any question, @therealwolf @themarkymark & @acidyo
  3. Introvertish, however self-aware. He once posted admittingly saying he felt uncomfortable speaking out in someones else's thread but thought he should reply. Self-awareness with the ability to self-criticize and overcome being uncomfortable is the recipe to grow limitlessly.

The Final Reasons:

  1. Entrepreneur - Created @smartsteem -which introduced a whitelist model to the community. Recently added smart monsters (a cool way to buy/sell @steemmonsters cards) - adding smart monsters just shows the hustle of therealwolf and are the signs of someone who is successful.
  2. Dev at @utopian-io - trained himself to write Javascript, NodeJS and VueJS in 3 months - because "I had ideas in my mind that I wanted to realize - but for this, I needed the Skills." - This shows determination. Active contributor on GitHub and was instrumental in resolving the post-hf situation with his client tools/assistance.
  3. sees himself as a developer of business ideas. "I like to tinker around here and there and be creative and disruptive." - I'm a serial, and this mindset resonates with me.
  4. Runs a top-notch witness server and is always actively looking to improve it. check here https://therealwolf.me/
  5. He is 110% committed to Steem and proves it with significant skin in the game.

Great show man. Love the research argument when it comes to buying vs markets that just trade a coin.

I have done a lot of research on STEEM and feel confident in my buys for as long as these prices will last. I'm very surprised to see STEEM tossed around today like it's the dirtiest coin on the coinmarketcap but I guess it's also a huge opportunity for the people that can see it.

Nice shoutout to the @therealwolf. I met this guy on SF3, humble solid guy. Real Steemian. Good witness!

Thanks for answering my question mate. Didn't expect that kind of an answer but I didn't expect anything less too!
"When you stay on the ground and don't chase the money you become like gravity and money flows to you"

Nailed it man. I also keep purchasing steem. Recently become a "dolphin" as they say around here and I love it. Needless to speak about steem's potential. We are all aware of that. I just want to accumulate as much steem as I possibly can before price skyrockets...which it will.

Have a nice day Dan

Gratz on becoming a dolphin!

Thanks man! Next level is going to be a real challenge (50K SP) but hey...I'll do my best!

Really enjoyed it brother, let's get you on mspwaves this weekend. I'll talk to aggroed and ask him, but I'm sure he would love to have you.

Wow! I didn't expect an one hour show man. That's freakin awesome. Look forward to more such long shows in the future and more of these Q/A's, definitely.

Thanks for taking the time and answering all of our questions.

Thrid time watching this because first two times was really late at night so I probably missed out on some gems, which I can't afford to.

Dan u are totally right. we should more think about creating value than watching the price and hunt for the quick buck.

I want to make a shoutout to all you out there, that understand what the value of a decentralized, borderless, permissionless cryptocurrency is. Don't waster your time fighting each other about things like BCH or other drama in Crypto. Its not worth it. We should build the community, help and educate each other. The more people know why Bitcoin and decentralization matters the better it is. Devide and conquer: the strategy of the few. Keep this in mind and be constructive, use your energy to do positiv things. Dont use it for hate and fighting about "whats the best investment" or "this coin is a scam" or things like that. Better educate people to recognize scam and how to invest in good projects. Start your own blog, build a node, develop etc. Now, in times when prices are down, create value by your self. Dont focus only on prices. There are endless opportunities.

Get started now!

Thanks.

this was great man. really appreciated all the questions and the responses you gave.

loved the point you made about developers bringing in the investors. it’s what i tell people all the time when i’m talking to them about steem...

the development is here. and it’s growing.

and huge high five to @therealwolf one of the first witnesses i voted for and love his products and services.

I always get excited when I hear of a new project on Steem and usually surprised when I find out they have been in development for awhile and already have a working product.

developers will make this blockchain and continue to make it such an awesome place to be. there is so much that is being worked on and flying under the radar. i have a hard time keeping up with it all lol

Dan, I second your decision on shining the spotlight on @therealwolf. I've been following his work for a while now and am always looking forward what he'll do next. I appreciate all he does for us on Steem and hope to be like him when I grow up. Great video here, I appreciate your knowledge and expertise on the crypto markets and answering people's questions in full detail.

I'll have to have another look at No Limit Coin. I did buy some a while ago but might be a good time to top up. I'll have to try their poker too, I can win at tournament poker, just need to avoid those cash tables :)

Buy when cheap and sell when it's expensive. I think it's a good time to power up when the price of steem goes down. But I have not done it because I am still struggling with funds. Maybe by posting over time my power will go up .

Steem is your voice, hold it dear.

Holding, blogging, accumulating. The numbers look terrifying now but we all gotta hang in there. Thanks for these encouraging words Dan.
