Hi Elvie, I really enjoyed your amazing vlogs about Vietnam. Was it your first time visiting my country? How did you find it?

Elvie: I find Vietnam is a place that everyone should visit to. It is a unique on it's way. I have travel to many countries but Vietnam give me that feeling of loneliness when I left the Airport. Weird. It is like I still want to stay at that time when we was leaving.

So, why did you choose Vietnam to visit?

Elvie: I have not been to Vietnam. To be honest, It did not cross my mind for years. 2 weeks prior to book a tour, I was thinking which country would be the best to visit if you are low on a budget but yet you still want that luxury of travel you need.. My mind said.. VIETNAM. I started to search and I saw The rice fields , Tam coc videos and Halong Bay.. So without any doubt, I search for a tour company online and book it.

Which places did you go and what did you enjoy the most in your trip?

Elvie: I went to Hanoi, Mai Chau, Pu Luong, Ninh Binh and Halong Bay. The best place? I think they all are. A great experience. But sure I can pinpoint the best ..The most historical place is Halong Bay. Yes, it may look chaotic but you do not feel it as you have your own boat. and in a boat it is so peaceful. You have to go and experience it, I woke up early morning at 5 am when I was in Halong Bay, It was so peaceful, so quiet.. So beautiful.. I actually made me cry.. I said... If my parents would be around today, this place is the place that I will bring them.. So if you have someone that you care and maybe unable to travel those adventurous actions, this is the place.. Halong Bay

Elvie with a Vietnamese lady

I know most of travelers come to experience an adventurous and chaotic Vietnam. But I guess were there some unpleasant moments that you went through too?

Elvie: My trip was with a tour guide, so there was no unpleasant situation during the whole trip. When I was back in Hanoi, I went shopping, and for the very fist time, I find that the lady who tending the store was very unfriendly. I bought a box of chopsticks, upon cheeking at the store, it was all fine. During packing, I heard she drop something. But I still paid and left. I trusted her. I went back to the hotel, I pull out the box and the cover of choopstick box is broken, I went to show her but she said, I already left the shop so she will not change. For that, there is no excuses, other countries has the same

As a person who already had different traveling experiences in Vietnam, from cosmopolitan city to rural villages, what would you advise to future travelers if they decide to visit Vietnam?

Elvie: There are ways to travel to Vietnam, that depends on your budget, You can be travelling with motorcycles. Buy bus is also possible. When I travel, it is time for me to relax, getting out of Singapore city, you need that break time. So the maximum trip I could get is 14 days. I also consider the safety. Vietnam is not that expensive as you think it is. Having someone or a tour guide or travel agency that arrange everything for you is "fantastic" way of doing it when you travel to a country which you mostly a stranger yourself. There is no need to cracked the head on what to do, things to do or where to go. I have inform my travel agent that this is what I like. Indeed, I was given more than what I expected.

What else do you blog/vlog about?

Elvie: I vlog about life, I want to reach out to the world, to eat clean to be lean. I like to reach out to the world that if you feeling down, and loosing hope in life.. open you eyes, there are so much to see in this world. So much to care for. That is what I want to share too.

I really appreciate your time being herefor this interview, I know you’re very busy person. And thanks again for sharing Vietnam to the world through your talented eyes. We welcome you to come back again!

Hi @elvielins, I have 2 friends from Philipin, one is male, the other one is female. They're very friendly and lovely. And I'm very happy when knowing you visit Vietnam and especially Puluong , where it's belong to my hometown. That's pitty that I can not host you during your time in there.

And that's so great when you like Vietnam. Most of my foreign friends really love our country. But you know, there is something unsatisfied out there.

My question is" If you have a magical power, what would you want to change Vietnam to be better place for tourism?"

Hope someday I can host you when you visit my hometown Thanh Hóa

Good day !

What is the most distinct character/personality of a Viatnamese that you really admire and why?

@dynamicshine, to be honest, the personality of Vietnamese, is ... I cannot really explain well, they have a personality of always smiling.. very polite.. though the tone is somewhat not easy to understand on the very first day meeting my drive and guide, but the following day and after that, it gets better. Listening and looking at their face.. it is all we need to understand.

Thanks @dynamicshine for passing by and dropping your question :P :P
@elvielins <3

I must admit that I do not know of Vietnam another face that is not the one that the American films show about the war of the 60s. The human losses left pain and mourning in many homes. Socialism to our day has failed to show that it is a balanced and fair ideology. It is the opposite: a misfortune that destroys societies and ruins countries. It is the enrichment of few and the poverty of many. Venezuela is a clear example of the failure of socialism in the 21st century.

Today, I am the victim of a petty ideology that has only brought misery to my country. And I can feel in my soul, the anguish of the Vietnamese of those days.

I like to know, that they have a treasure like Halong Bay, where they can be disconnected from sorrows.

@thaishps, when I was in Hanoi City, the very first day, me and my husband walk out from the Hotel. We stayed at the OLD QUARTER. In this area, there is a LAKE OF THE RESTRORED SWORD During the walk, we met few children want to to talk to us. These children will share story about Ho Chi Minh and Vietnam. I am so surprise that these kids were taught well. Unlike other kids in big city, know so much about latest of Iphones and lates games.. But Vietnamese kids are different, they are more to local history and they share it with the tourists. So I could tell you that they are day by day.. embracing us.. tourist or foreigner in Vietnam. That will make them disconnected from pain.. I encourage everyone to go.. Only when you are there.... with the kids, you feel it.

@thaishps Thanks for sharing your honest thought with us. I just want to say that we all are getting better, day by day. Keep your faith! From Vietnam with Love to Venezuela! <3 I would suggest you to watch Kong Skull island, I know it's a fictional movie. And @elvielins visited that venue they made the movie too. The reason not to watch a fictional movie, but the story behind it was inspiring, just to show that how are open to new opportunity, let the history stay aside little bit and connect to the world.

Such an excellent observation @elvielins, THANK YOU! We are still trying to improve everyday!

Food is an international focus especially during travelling. What are the interesting or weird food that you tasted there?

@fun2learn, my very best food is banana blossom salad my weird one.. is the SNAIL

Is it cooked like escargots. Something close to French style? I like escargot actually. :)

I just google "escargot", I could say they should be the same HAHAHA. But we make 100x styles with Snail. Welcome to join us someday :)

What was the best moments you had in Vietnam?

@ogt, when I was in Tamcoc and Halong Bay..

Nice! But still i wasnt really convinced on why i should visit Vietnam outside the fact that it is an affordable destination.

So If she were to win the lottery some time next month, would she love to go spend her money in Vietnam?

@ronarexx, hahaha... good question.. If I won a lottery, YES I like to spend it in Vietnam again.. and I like to bring you along with me.. and everyone else here.. I want to show you.. I will bring you for a tour.. There is so much beautiful things to do in Vietnam. If you like countryside, Vietnam is the one of the most beautiful place I have ever been.

Now you seem to be a little more convincing 😂😀 but countryside? Who doesnt like a place where Life is generally easier and simpler with less people you have to put up with and the more nature you can enjoy.

@elvielins am looking forward to the trip but mind you still am a very difficult person to please

@ronarexx, really? I wonder how difficult could you be.. the smile of Vietnamese girls, beautiful women sure melt you heart.

Awww 😊😊
That just bought my heart already.
Then you should add to your reasons why we should visit, that Vietnam has charming ladies which could buy a man's attention with just smiles.

Btw! You should consider working with TripAdvisor because you one tourist that knows how to convince

HAHAHA I love your question buddy!
