God wants us to know Him and have a perfect walk with Him. He wants us to be useful to mankind and also remain focused while on earth. We are all created for a purpose, we were given some tasks to be carried while we sojourn on this earth. We were called to service and to fulfill our destinies here on earth. It is important we ask ourselves some questions. This world is not our home, we were sent here on a mission. The question is why were we sent to this earth? And if you happen to know why you are here, are you carrying out those tasks? Are you serviceable?

Serviceable means the ability to be fully functional and usable. We are all created for a purpose, there is a reason why you and I were created and the good thing is that we were all created with something inside of us. God didn't just leave us to fend for ourselves. He has blessed each and every one of us and has equipped us with the tools needed to carry out those tasks. We were chosen and called to service. This is something we ought to take very seriously because we will be asked by God on how effectively we carried out these assignments.

Sometimes, people take God's instructions for granted because they feel He is full of mercy and slow to anger, but it will be so unfair to take advantage of the mercy of God by neglecting what we were asked to do. A good child is always obedient to his/her parents and not by disobeying them. The Bible says a good child brings joy to his parents. God has been so faithful to us, He has been there for us, He wants the best for us. How do we repay Him for all the things He has done? We can only please Him by doing what is expected of us as believers. Jesus came into this world as human and was fully functional to the works of His Father. What excuse do we have not to be serviceable?

I know we live in a crazy world with a lot of things going on that we barely have time for ourselves, and family but the thing is, if you are committed to something then you must create time out of love and importance. I have come to notice that it is not all about how busy we are, but it is all about how committed we are to the things of the Lord.

Jesus went up on a mountainside and called to him those he wanted, and they came to him
14 Then he appointed twelve of them and called them his apostles. They were to accompany him, and he would send them out to preach,
15 and to have authority to drive out demons.
Mark 3:13-15

According to this Bible passage, we were given three major assignments. These tasks are not something we should do whenever we feel like, but there are serious matters that should be looked into. Let's take a look at the three of them;

TO BE WITH HIM:

To be with Jesus is beyond just accepting Jesus as personal savior and master. Being with someone requires some level of commitment. There must be an evidence of that acceptance and commitment. As believers, we are expected to be like Christ in all that we do. Being with Christ is not all about carrying out all the rituals involved, but that personal walk with him. We should be able to establish a deep connection with him. We all know that no one comes through the Father except by him. We must be willing to obey and keep his instructions not just doing that but also willing to let his well to be done in our lives. Come to think of it, have you seen a child who is more knowledgeable than his parents? Being with him is accepting He is the Lord over your life and not your mate. God has given us the opportunity to get to know Him through Christ Jesus.

PREACHING/EVANGELISM:

Let me say this, the best way to preach the gospel is by living it out in your attitude/character. The Apostles were called Christians for the first time in Antioch because they lived and behaved like Christ. People saw Christ in them and to me, that is what Christianity is all about. The Bible encourages us to preach the gospel and take it to the ends of the earth. Are you serviceable when it comes to doing this? Yes, I know Steemit is a very good platform to preach the gospel and reach out to the world, but what about those that don't have access to the internet, television, and radio. This means it is our duty to take the word of God to them by starting with those around us including family, friends, and colleagues. It is also very important to check the kind of style that we live because it will be a shame to bring mockery to the kingdom of God. Evangelism is a serious business, there are so many souls that are waiting for someone to tell them how much Jesus loves them. Looking at all the happenings around the world, you will all agree with me that truly we need to take this task to the highest level and only you and I can do this.

POWER TO CAST OUT DEMONS:

Jesus has given us the authority to cast out demons as long as we believe that we can in his name. Contrary to what most believers think, there is nowhere that is written in the Bible that the power to cast out demons belong solely to the pastors or selected few. During the time of creation, God gave us dominion over all the principalities and powers. We were created to be in charge because we are gods what matters is our faith in the name which we call upon and how much we believe in the power of God. The Spirit in us is greater than the one in the world.

In conclusion,

Assignments are not meant to be taken for granted especially the ones from Christ Jesus. For starters, we always take any assignment that was given to us in school or office very seriously. We intend to carry them out like our whole life depends on it. This is a wake-up call and a reminder of what is expected of us to do. I pray that God will give us the grace and wisdom to effectively carry out these assignments and to remain serviceable till the last day.
