Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think
Ephesians 3:20 NLT

I don't know if this happens to anyone or just me. Sometimes, whenever I want to ask God for something, I try to make excuses for Him. I will begin to think maybe I am asking too much. Sometimes, I will say to myself "why are you bothering God with these things, are you the only one on earth. Don't you know that there are more pressing and urgent needs that God needs to attend to" These questions will sometimes run through my mind and before I know what is happening doubt comes into play. Most of the time, I will begin to see the reasons why my request may not be granted by God. For most Christians, even before asking anything from God, we have concluded deep down that we ask too much from God. Hence, cutting short our expectations. Some people are afraid to ask God for what they think is impossible to have for the fear of being ignored.

As humans and believers of the word of God, we all have expectations. There is always something we have a strong belief that God will make it happen for us, but most times, we fail to totally trust and have faith in God to grant those heart desires. Hear this, before we doubt God's ability to grant our heart desires we need to understand if He is capable of attending to our needs. The truth is, before holding on to promise made by anyone, the person must have proved to be reliable, faithful, and capable of keeping that promise. Sometimes, we don't need to check the person's record but might decide to give him/her a chance. This is actually when dealing with humans, but when it comes to God it's a different ball game. Not only does His level of integrity accommodate small expectations, but also great expectations. His word is infallible when He says something, He will surely do it. We don't need to make excuses for Him or think our expectations are way too high for Him to handle. There is nothing too difficult for God to do, all we need to do is just ask in the name of Jesus Christ.

God has given us a name above all names. The name of Jesus in which we can ask of anything at all and it will be granted to us provided we have strongly believed in whom we ask of and we have the right motive for asking. We must ask for us to receive. This simply means we do not receive if we fail to ask Him in prayers. The Bible says ask and you shall receive according to His will, not ours. Now, most of us get discouraged whenever we don't get what we've asked for, but the question should be, what is God's will concerning what you are asking for. God knows the best and sees the future, but we are limited to the present. This simply means the will of God supersedes your will. The bible says they will be done not mine or yours.

God has so much love for His children. And, just like our earthly father who has so much to give, God has so much more to give that can exceed all our expectations. The question is, do we have what it takes to receive from Him when we ask? It's not all about asking. Prayers are far beyond making a request to God, it's all about communication. There must be a relationship before you can call someone your father. Asking from God is not something you do then wait till whenever you need something from Him again. Asking from God through prayers is a continuous process, it doesn't end after a few minutes. You must have that relationship with Him. You should be able to trust that God listens to your prayers not just because He has promised to do so, but because you can feel His presence and have the Holy Spirit in your life. God knows our heart desires before we even ask, but He wants us to ask. He is interested in your personal relationship with Him.

In conclusion,

God hears your prayers. Although it might not always be what you want but always remember He has your interest at heart and loves you so much. Sometimes, we don't even know what is best for us, but God knows what we truly want and holds the key to your future.

If we don't ask of our Father, then how will He bless us?. Yes, He knows our needs but, we should learn to ask Him in prayer.

Jajajaja A veces me preguntaba qué molestó a Dios, pero luego comprendí que al pensar de esa manera estaba disminuyendo y minimizando el poder del gran Dios al que servimos.
