STEEMCHURCH - GRACE Makes The Difference

Growing up, I found it very difficult to understand what grace was all about. In my mind, I kept wondering why people succeed in life differently especially when they fall under the same category. At some point, I thought maybe God was partial, I mean why would He bless Mr. A above Mr. B? It called for a deep soul searching until I began to experience it myself. Aside from the fact that we all work differently while Mr. A may put in all his best, Mr. B might not do the same. Of course, there is no way, they will both achieve the same result, but that is totally different. Many Bible scholars have tried to explain what grace is all about, but it seems most of us are still finding it difficult to understand. Well, I decided to do a practical test and narrowed it down to a real-life experience.

What is Grace? Grace is the only thing you have, others do not have. For instance, Mr. A & Mr. B have everything in common, they both give in 100% to whatever they do, they both manage their resources very Well, but what makes Mr. A be more successful than Mr. B is grace with all things being equal. Now, Mr. A being more successful not because he is doing anything extraordinary or he has a secret attached to his success, but God in His infinite mercy has decided to show mercy to him. In other words, Grace is God's favor shown to the underserved. This simply means, achieving something you didn't deserve, but God helped you anyway irrespective of everything you have done. Grace is when God decides to cancel all your wrongdoings, all your bad deeds, then decides to grant you love, mercy, and favor although the concept of grace is never a thing to brag about. Having the thought of knowing God gifted you with something you truly did not deserve should be enough to humble anyone because it is never about you.

As followers of Christ, we live daily by the grace of God. You are not better than those that are died, or those lying at the hospital bed critically ill, but His grace has kept you this far even when you have wronged Him in so many ways. I want to believe that Mary the mother of Jesus wasn't the only virgin during her time, as a matter of fact, it was more like a culture for single girls to remain a virgin still after marriage. I also want to believe, she was not the only virgin who lived uprightly, and had a good relationship with God, but He chose her anyway to be the mother of Christ. The Bible says in the book of Luke 1:28-31. Grace fished her out, it wasn't her making to be picked to have such a great honor. In fact, she knew nothing about it, but it came to her anyway.

The angel went to her and said, "Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.""
29 Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be.
30 But the angel said to her, Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God!
31 You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus.

Oftentimes, it seemed as if there is something you are doing differently, it seems you always have it figured out, it looks as if you have achieved all your heart desires effortlessly. Sometimes, we allow it to get into our head and begin to boast of it, but I just want to remind us today that Grace makes the difference, therefore, let no man boast of his achievements because only Grace makes you outstanding, it puts you ahead of your peers, it makes your efforts become stressfree, and it makes your heart desires achievable. It is all about God's Grace! I pray that the grace of God will continue to make a difference in our lives, Amen!
