STEEMCHURCH - Perilous Times?

in #steemchurch6 years ago

Dear All,

You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times.
2 Timothy 3:1

Isn't it obvious that we are living in the last days? St. Paul often warned his brethren of difficult days ahead. Lately, a lot has been happening all over the world. Listening to the news is no longer fun with a lot of evil happening everyday. Hence, we find ourselves to be living in a very troubled world and one in which very little makes sense anymore.

There are dangers everywhere. Chaos is the order of the day. You hear news of violence, crime, civil unrest, terrorism and so many horrible and terrible things. One would say "a great evil has invaded upon the earth, causing almost everybody to go completely insane.

For most Christians, this is the right time to be vigilant and more prayerful while others simply refuse to accept the reality of the times we live in. They cling to the belief that these things are natural and no big deal. The question is what happened to humanity? How did we get to this point? But the obvious and sad truth is that we have become godless people and many have turned away from God. This is difficult to differentiate from a true believer and someone who isn't. Every believer wants to join the moving trend, abandoning the ways of the Lord to the ways of man. No one wants to be left out, but this is a wake up call to the faithful.

It is evident that we are living in the last day, but the question is what should we do in times like this? By being faithful to the word of God and carefully follow the doctrines of our Lord Jesus Christ. Paul also encourages us to stay away from people like that! Here are some of the keys to survive the last days;

Stay focused: Yes, it looks as if the world is going crazy, but remember the Lord has everything in control. The bible says look onto Jesus. This simply means constant focus. Let us keep our eyes glued on Jesus at all times and Him alone.

Stand firm: Nobody said the road will be easy, but we have the assurance that Jesus will be with us all the way. All we need to do is to stay focused and stand firm in His words.

Pray and pray: Prayer connects us with God. At times like this, we need God's protection and guidance which we can achieve by talking to Him about these happenings. We do not need to get worried when we hear about all the awful things that are going on in the world right now, but just hand over lives to God. We need to stay focused, stand firm and pray.

Partner with the Holy Spirit: Partnership with the Holy Spirit means we do not walk in the ways of the flesh. Letting the spirit take over our spirit being to guide and direct our paths. This also means we do not get to please ourselves, choosing God's law over any other law. We need to stay focused, stand firm, pray and partner with the Holy spirit.

Be selective: At times like this, we need to be selective of the things we do. Selective of our friends, activities and constantly examine ourselves. Let us try to be focused, stand firm, pray, partner with the Spirit and be selective.

Are these new? NO! Paul foretold these happenings and warned us in the book of Timothy.

Paul lists characteristics of the Perilous times as follows;

Love of themselves and their money

Boastful and pride

Scoffing at God

Badly behaved to their parents

Ungrateful

They will consider nothing sacred.

They will be unloving and unforgiving

They will be slanderous and have no self-control

They will be brutal and hate what is good.

They will betray their friends

Reckless,

Puffed up with pride

And love pleasure rather than God

They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly.

2 Timothy 3:1-7

In conclusion,

Always remember that Jesus loves you!

Thank you for reading and God bless you all!!!

Sort:

Indeed, we are in the end times, and we need to yield practically to the admonition of Jesus in >Mathew 24:42:
Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.

Thanks for sharing @ammyluv.
Kind regards.

Indeed regarding all things that happening all around these are things that even Him our saviour Jesus Christ spoke about to be the signs of the ending time. so i should argue all brethren to live like the 5 wise virgins in Matthew 25 being watchful for the coming of back of the son of man
