STEEMCHURCH - Seven Deadly Sins!!!
Dear All,
Greetings to the #steemchurch and everyone. Today, I will be sharing a topic an things God hates.
These seven deadly sins are mostly the laws given to Moses as the ten commandments.
For most Christians, God is full of mercy and can never be angry with His children, but let's not forget God's wrath can come upon anyone who does the thing He hates.
What does God hate? Solomon answers this question in the book of Proverbs.
Proverbs 6:16-19
There are six things the Lord hates,
seven that are detestable to him:
17 haughty eyes,
a lying tongue,
hands that shed innocent blood,
18 a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are quick to rush into evil,
19 a false witness who pours out lies
and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.
A proud look The bible says "pride comes before a fall" Pride here could mean a lot of things like taking glory for your achievements. When you feel you have acquired all you have on your own accord without the help of God. God can never share His glory with an man, all glory must be to the Lord.
Pride caused the fall of Lucifer and he became satan the devil. A pride mind cannot be a follower of Christ. Jesus lived an exemplary life for believers to follow His footsteps and all through His lifetime, He displayed humility by coming down to earth to save mankind from destruction.
Pride does all kinds of damage. Goliath was boastful of how he would destroy the children of God and God humbled him. Pride could also mean placing yourself above others, thinking you are better. Christ expects every of His children to be humble even in the spirit.
Jesus said in the book of Matthew 23:12
And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted
Humility gains our enterance into the kingdom of God. Jesus says " we must behave like little children to enter the kingdom of God"
A lying tongue Sometimes, as Christians, we are being faced with this issue. We find it hard tk keep to this commandment.
Lying goes beyond knowing the truth and saying a different thing entirely. Lying gives birth to deceit which involves anything whether words or deeds, that are intended to lead people to believe the opposite of the truth.
Proverbs 12:22
The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in men who are truthful
Hands that shed innocent blood Don't get excited yet! This simply means murder, but let's not get excited about this for most believers would say "Oh!Thank God, I haven't committed murder by shedding innocent blood" murder cannot only be done by hands, but also by our words or actions.
Most of us are unlikely to murder another person, but we indirectly murder others with the words we speak and even our actions.
1 John 3:15
Whoever hates his brother is a murder and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him
Murder can be committed in several ways. How often do you kill your partner, kids, parents, colleagues and friends with hateful words that can pierce the heart by indirectly killing that person? Yes, no one will charge you to court and you might be forgiven by those you hurt, but what does God say about this? God holds such people accountable for murder.
A black heart A heart full of evil. While men will judge one according to their outward appearance, God judges us according to our intentions which was one of the reasons the world was destroyed with flood during the time of Noah.
Genesis 6:5
And God saw that the wickedness of a man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually
The bible made it very clear on this no man with an evil heart shall inherit the kingdom of God.
Feet that are swift in running to mischief This simply means to be eager to put something over on someone. Pinning it on someone to take the fall for something you have done. It could aldo mean getting something by deceit or trickery which isn't a big deal even to most believers.
A false witness This approach was used against Jesus by the Jewish leaders just to put Him to death.
It's really a bad thing to bear false witness against someone who you know is truly innocent or even try to say "half truth" and decide not to take sides in other to favor one party.
Exodus 20:16
You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.
The bible also describes false witness as a violent weapon which comes from a sinful heart and God frowns at it.
He that soweth discord among brethren Sowing the seed of discord is the opposite of being at peace with all men which the bible encourages us to do always.
If a person goes about planting seed of hate among brethren whether through any means with the intention to achieve an evil aim, that person is definitely in a dangerous position because God hates anyone that soweth discord among brethren.
Conclusion
These seven deadly dins are abomination unto God, but that does mean He doesn't frown at other sins. Our God is a holy God and cannot stand iniquities. Are you still battling with any of these? It's not too late my dear brothers and sisters. God is full of compassion and mercy, He's ready to welcome us into the body of Christ, if only we can repent of our sins and humble ourselves before He and ask for mercy.

This is indeed a great message and an eye opener to some of things many people do deliberately thinking that it is right. I thought murderers were those who kill or endanger the life of others until I read the scriptures to discover that hating your brother is a murder. I'm glad that you talked about that, thanks and God bless you.

There is no specific sin which is of exceptional but what you have written are greatly forbidden by God.
We should always avoid our self from been manipulated by the devil for he is there to destroy our soul and our heart.
Well detailed post Ammy, however to the best of my knowledge, all sins are considered deadly.
I totally agree with you, but these are just the summary of all sins.

@ammyluv sin is sin but their are sins with high abomination. Like a man of God teaching against immorality and still committing such.
But sin is sin, there is no small or big sin.

Pride is excessive belief in one's own abilities, that interferes with the individual's recognition of the grace of God. It has been called the sin from which all others arise. Pride is also known as Vanity.

Sin is always a barrier that turn is away from God. We should try to avoid it as much as we can for it takes us out of the presence of God.
He's a Holy God and cannot stand sin. Therefore, we have to be holy too
