Charles lost his phone on his way back from school. He has always been a very careful person, but on that fateful day, he had just received a very shocking news about a friend. After receiving the call, he left the phone on his seat and alighted from the bus.

Charles got home, feeling so sad and told his father everything that happened on his way back home. His father was a bit mad, but told him to be more careful next time. Then Charles said to his father;

"Dad, please can you get another phone for me? I will be very careful with it"

His father looked at him with a smile "Okay Charles! I will get you a new phone, but at my convenience"

Charles was excited. He prayed and asked God to provide for his father. He came home one Monday afternoon and behold, his father has gotten a new and better smartphone. Charles picked up his new phone and walked away. His father was dumbfounded with his attitude, he thought to himself;

"At least, he was supposed to say "thank you dad" He felt so bad and was disappointed with his son.

Now, the question is, what do you make of this story? How would you have reacted? I believe, most parents will definitely feel bad.

As humans, we love it when people appreciate our kind deeds. We love to hear them say "Thank you" and as for me, I'm always filled with joy whenever I get "Thank you & God bless" from anyone, but most people especially believers act differently towards God.

For most Christians, the fact that they were able to see the day, it's not actually a big deal. The fact that they get answers to their prayers is normal so what is the big deal? But I am here today, to let you know that it is actually a big deal not to say "Thank you Lord "

Remember, the story of the ten lepers Jesus healed on his way to Jerusalem? Only one came back to thank the Lord so he asked " Where are the other nine healed?"

What actually made David the man after God's own heart? His gratitude nature. He wrote Psalms to show gratitude, he danced unto the Lord to show gratitude and God kept on increasing him because of his gratitude nature.

Most times, we feel, God does not deserve our gratitude. We feel it is by own strength that we"ve come this far. It is so sad for believers to think, they were just lucky to have gotten a particular achievement, but listen to this, there is nothing you can achieve on your own. Every gift comes from the Lord above and only Him deserves your thanksgiving.

The giving of thanks to God for all His blessings should be one of the most distinctive marks of a true believer.

Come to think of it: What can you really offer God in exchange for all His good deeds? God is not interested in your riches for He owns the whole world. The Bible says "In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you"

Just like the story above, children even find it so difficult to thank their parents these day and they(parents) always get mad. In fact, saying thank you at the right time and when needed shows a well trained child, but today, we take everything for granted.

In conclusion,

We all love it whenever we get appreciated by others. Sometimes, we even demand for it, but with God, we feel He has not done enough to deserve our praise, but that is not true.

There are 1001 reasons to always say "THANK YOU LORD" you don't need to have the whole world at your feet or count your physical blessings to appreciate God. Have you thanked the Lord today?
