Venezuela Trust, by your side is God!

As a Venezuelan I know how difficult it is to live in Venezuela, I am a teacher of children and I always like to convey a word of encouragement to parents and representatives.

In a remote village in Africa, Christianity had not yet arrived, it was a part so hidden and wooded that no one dared to go. A missionary who realized the spiritual need that existed among the people of the village, decided to venture in the company of two friends.

When they arrived in the village, they asked the chief of the tribe for permission to talk to people about the love of God and the Bible, in a public place, but the chief refused, because in that week the tribe would perform ceremonies to their gods to rain. It had been six months since it rained, which had caused a severe drought, livestock, crops and all the vegetation was dying.

When the missionary realized the need that existed between the tribe, due to the lack of rain, he insisted again to the head of the tribe to give him permission, but with the proposal that if the true God, the God of the Bible, the creator God, made it rain the next day at six o'clock in the afternoon, could talk about the love of God to the tribe. The chief accepted on the condition that, if his God did not make it rain, the missionary and his friends would be imprisoned for six months.

Upon leaving the house of the chief of the tribe, they managed to find a place to put a tent to pray. All that night they spent praying to God so that the next day it would rain at six in the afternoon. When the next day arrived, everyone expected it to be six o'clock in the evening to see if the missionary's God would make it rain. It was six in the afternoon and the sky darkened and a few drops of rain began to fall, then more, until it rained for two hours in that village. At the end of the rain many people recognized that the God of the missionary was the true God and others were gods without power.

And we know that those who love God, all things work together for good, that is, those who are called according to their purpose. Romans 8:28

Although it seems ironic, when we spend the greatest needs, it is when we seek God the most and in the good times we forget to look for him or to thank him for his blessings. But in spite of all that, when the need or crisis comes, it is for the name of God to be glorified in our lives. Through prayer and an insatiable quest to obtain the divine response we will learn to mature spiritually and to understand God's plans in our lives.

It may be that on this day you find yourself going through illnesses, economic problems or different needs and your hope and trust you have placed in God. You have done the right thing, but you must remember that calm comes after the storm. In times of calm and blessings we should be grateful and recognize who our God is.
