MY HORRIBLE PAST

Act 9:26-27
And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he tried to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple. But Barnabas took him, and brought [him] to the apostles...

The ways of GOD are different from the ways of man, so we find it difficult to understand HIS ways. For MY thoughts [are] not your thoughts, neither [are] your ways MY ways, saith the LORD (Is 55:8). We find it difficult to give those who have offended us or done wrong a second chance, but our GOD is a GOD of second chance. Many are suffering today because of their horrible past.

Though they might have changed, people around them refuse to accept them as changed people and still judge them by their past. When we sin against GOD, we desire to be given another chance, but we fail to do same for others. In the parable of the prodigal son, the elder son was angry that the father had accepted his brother (Lk 15:28). The father saw a changed son but the elder brother saw a disobedient child

. Saul tried to join the disciples after his encounter with GOD but they were afraid of him because of his past. Barnabas was the one who took him and told them what had happened to him. Stop judging people by their past and accept them like Barnabas did. Be the Barnabas of our time so that together, we can accept and encourage new converts no matter how horrible their past may be.

Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged...(Matt 7:1-2)
