One of the things that the Lord sends us is that we should be generous with our relatives. That is something that, in times of abundance, it is easy to fulfill. But when we are in adversity, or going through situations such as those that my country (Venezuela) lives in today, this is something difficult to fulfill, however, it is in these moments where it becomes more necessary to be in solidarity with others.

It is in these moments when we must show the love of Christ in us, it is now that Christians, especially Venezuelans, must show that we have a God of abundance and that he sustains us. Maybe you think, how can I do this if I just have it for myself and my family ... and I understand it perfectly. I have gone through situations in which I have only one flour left, but miraculously the next day there is an opportunity to buy more or someone gives us a flour.

What I want to tell you is that God is going to support us at this time and allow us to share the bread with others. Let's activate the faith in our lives.

1 Timothy 6: 18-19

18 Command them to do good, to be rich in good works, and generous, willing to share what they have. 19 In this way they will treasure for themselves a safe flow for the future and they will obtain true life.

The Lord has promises for the generous people, because the heart of God rejoices when his people are generous, when his people trust him and share believing that nothing will be lacking.

Declaring: Jehovah is my Shepherd, nothing will be missing.

But all this pleases God when it is done with joy and with a heart really willing to share, when there is compassion in our hearts. That is the heart that pleases God.

2 Corinthians 9: 6-7

6 Remember this: He who sows sparingly will scarcely reap, and he who sows bountifully will reap abundantly.7 Each one should give according to what he has decided in his heart, not unwillingly or out of compulsion, for God loves him who give with joy.

Because everything we do to our neighbor is as if we were doing it to the Lord, if we want to please God, let's do what pleases Him. Many times people are on our way because they are put by God to help them, and If we do it from the heart, God delights, but how can we please God if instead of compassion, we get upset and do things with bad feeling?

Colossians 3: 23-24

23 Whatever you do, work willingly, as for the Lord and not as for anyone in this world, 24 aware that the Lord will reward you with the inheritance. You serve Christ the Lord.

If we have read that every work has its reward, then we work according to that reward we want, if we want a good reward we do the right thing and what is worthy of a good reward.

The most important thing of generosity is humility and discretion. Many give to stand out from others, to be seen and praised by man, but this does not please God, when you are generous of heart, you do it out of love for the person, and you do not do it to have the approval of the the rest.

So when you help someone just do it without expecting anything in return and that only God and you know, a mature attitude pleases God.

Matthew 6: 2-4

2 When therefore you give alms, do not sound the trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, to be praised by men; I swear you that the have already got their reward. 3 But when you give alms, do not let your left know what your right is doing, 4 so that your alms may be a secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you in public.
