Honour The Lord With Your Substance

The most important thing for anyone living on earth to do is to give honour to the Lord who is the sustainer of his or her life. We are nothing without God. Everything we possess is a free gift fromnthe Lord. it is not by might nor by power but by His spirit.

All our substances must be used to honour God who is the Creator of the heavens and earth and everything that dwells in. Good times easily make people forget what they use to be, what they have been through and how the Lord rescued and blessed them.

In all times we must remember to give God all the praise and thanks for what He has done for us but often times few people are able to do this. Some people easily forget God when he blesses them and then allow their wealth to determine how they live their life.

They are like the foolish rich man who never gave God the glory for blessing him with a bumper harvest:

Then he told them a parable. He said, “The land of a certain rich man produced good crops. So he began to think to himself, ‘What should I do, since I have no place to store my crops? Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I’ll tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and I’ll store all my grain and goods in them. Then I’ll say to myself, “You’ve stored up plenty of good things for many years. Take it easy, eat, drink, and enjoy yourself.”’ But God told him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded back from you. Now who will get the things you’ve accumulated?’ That’s how it is with the person who stores up treasures for himself rather than with God.” Luke 13:16

The rich man forgot that it wasn't by his might or by his power but the grace of God that made him prosper in his business and so he was destroyed by the Lord. The sane will happen to anyone who forgets God and take His honour.

We will suffer the same fate if we live for ourselves and is not rich towards God. Anyone who lives for himself will lose his soul or life but he who lives for God will continue to live and will be more blessed.

We should not forget to honour the Lord with our body, soul and everything that is within us. We should honour him with our material possessions and every other thing the Lord has blessed us with.
