Prayer is so important that we cannot do without, it is an access for humanity to commune with God for His will to prevail in their affairs. Many have understood prayer in different ways and have prayed in several ways, but I believe we will understand prayer better from the perspective of the one who taught prayer and who prayed daily.

THE PRAYER LIFE OF CHRIST

You realised that Jesus was a prayerful person. He started with prayer and finished with prayer. Nothing discouraged him from praying and nothing ever stooped him from praying. We must be like Christ, prevailing in our prayer life is something we must learn. There was a secret to why Jesus got answers to all his prayers. Jesus did not only pray but feared God. This was the secret why received answers to all His prayers

who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear, Hebrews 5:7

A guaranteed answer and a proven results that Jesus received after his prayers was the reason which made him to always pray. It is very annoying to call a person who doesn't pick your calls or answer them. Job complained when he did not get the desired answer to his prayer.

If I had called, and he had answered me; yet would I not believe that he had hearkened unto my voice? Job 9:16

As a man of prayer he was always motivated by the fact that his prayers were always answered. Jesus knew what he has to do to prevail in his prayers and that is to fear God.

Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death.....Hebrews 5:7

WHY IT IS SO IMPORTANT TO FEAR GOD THAN TO LOVE PRAYING

Many believers love to pray than to fear God. God loves those who has reverence for Him and will obey what He says not those who like to say many words in prayer and still live in their sinful life.

God speaks and answers a God fearing person

Many Christians long to hear from God but finds it hard and difficult hearing from Him. There may be other reasons which makes it difficult to hear from God but one of the reasons is when you lack the fear of God. Hear what God tells the disobedient and those who have no fear for Him:

Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD: They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof. Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices. For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them. But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil. Prov.1:28-33

God Himself refuses to talk to a person who show Him no reverence and respect. it is very deluding how many Christians believe in praying more than fearing God more.

When Isaac had asked his father Abraham about the lamb to be used for the sacrifice, he said the Lord will provide. Abraham had expected God to provide a lamb. The Lord spoke and answered Abraham and provided because of his fear not because he had prayed.

And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.
Gen.22:11-12

Prayer is a two way communication where we speak to God and He speaks back to us. Jeremiah 33:3. If there is a man to pray then there should be a God to answer. It is so important for us not to pray amiss. To pray amiss is to pray without you hearing from the one you prayed to. The fear you have for God is what will trigger a quick and expected answer.

God accepts a God fearing person

There is a country code which you must dial before making a call to any country. That code ensures that numbers do not mingle and to cause confusion.

I believe one of the spiritual codes that makes a call to heaven acceptable is the fear of God. A God fearing person is the one the Lord accepts. The word "accept" means to grant access to. A God fearing person is the one whom God gives ear to and receives irrespective of where he resides or come from.

But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him. Acts 10:35
