Will You Still Acknowledge The Messiah Even In Times of Trouble?

in #steemchurch6 years ago (edited)

Life is always sweet when everything is working in your favour. It is indeed sweeter when there are no troubles. It is also the same when it comes to following Christ, the Messiah. It is easy to shout halleluyah! praise the Lord! sing praises to the glory of God when you are enjoying God's blessings and experiencing His goodness in every area of your life.

They are moment when you are so confident and your faith is so strong in the Lord. They are moments you easily worship God and give Him all the praise. They are moments when you easily confess your love for God and His work. They are moments you appreciate God for all His doings in your life and give Him adoration.

Will you still thank the Lord at all times? Will you still thank Him even in times of trouble? Will you still praise Him when your prayers are not answered? Will you still worship the Lord when you facing challenges in your business, in your marriage, in your family? Will still acknowledge Jesus as your Lord even the verge of death? Will still maintain your confession about the Lord as your saviour even you are threatened to deny your faith to escape death?

well I'm sure everyone will say yes. Friends serving God has never been easy especially in times of hardship. It is easy to follow Christ when you have had your fill of fish and bread but will it be still easy for you to follow him when it is time to take up your cross and crucified with him?

John the Baptist a man of faith, anointed man of God and was divinely assigned to reveal the Mesiah to the world. Nobody knew Messiah and all who had earnestly waited to know him had even thought of John as the promised Messiah for He had exceptionally qualities, power and great authority in the teachings and preaching of the things of God.

He was the one the who baptized the Messiah and introduced him for he had a confirmation of the vision which God had told him about.

And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou? And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ. And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No. Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself? He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias. And they which were sent were of the Pharisees. And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet? John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not; He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose. These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing. The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me. And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water. And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God. John 1:19-34

John truly acknowledge Jesus as the Messiah the Jews had expectantly waited for yet he couldn't do so when he was captured and imprisoned.

A great man of man who had previously confessed Jesus as the true Messiah was now in doubt about his identity. Perhaps John had wanted Jesus to visit him or wanted him to free him from prison. What John had expected the Messiah to do which he never did put him in doubt and made him lose his his confession about him.

Now when John heard in prison about the activities of the Messiah, he sent a message by his disciples and asked him, “Are you the Coming One, or should we wait for someone else?” Jesus answered them, “Go and tell John what you hear and observe: the blind see, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the destitute hear the good news. How blessed is anyone who is not offended by me!” Mathew 11:1-6

To be able to stand till the end and maintain our confession and faith in Christ we need God's grace to help us in times of trouble. Any time go to God in prayer we should ask for His meries and grace to help us to finish our race for it is not he that willeth nor He that runneth but God that shows mercy.

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16
